Re: Talks Have Begun to Make All Replays Viral......

........College Football is a great game that is being subjected to too many interruptions to the point where speed and rhythm, two things that make the the game appealing, are being impacted. The two culprits are Television Timeouts for whatever reason and Game Officiating. The TV time outs are an ...

Re: Talks Have Begun to Make All Replays Viral......

there was an average of 2.2 replays per game during the season This surprises me a bit. I would've guessed it to be higher. I wonder if there is a difference between P5 games and non? I would get the bigger games on TV would have more reviews, but even the 11a kick on a given conf channel feels it ...

Re: Talks Have Begun to Make All Replays Viral......

And as for this crap TARGETING stuff if an official calls it, make it a personal foul, 15 yds & 1st down and sit the offender for the remainder of the possession , let the player return to play and then review the play at halftime or after the end of the game and dole out whatever penalty.........

Re: Talks Have Begun to Make All Replays Viral......

I believe “replay” has gotten our of hand to where it’s interrupting the flow of the game and therefore the enjoyment. It seems contradictory to have a play clock to pace the game and then stop play in order to ‘further review’. If the game officials can’t get in position to make the calls, then sim...

Re: Time To Get That Feel!

Geeeez, with all the Coronavirus and NIL stuff dominating the news at this point I don’t have a clue. As far as WVU is concerned they’ll have to show me they can block else with Florida State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Iowa State and Baylor on the schedule it’ll be another ho-hum season. :? :?

.......and not have Replay Officials at the games this season. Some interesting stats from 2019....... there was an average of 2.2 replays per game during the season and 40 percent of the replays resulted in reversals of the call made on the field. The average replay took 79 seconds. For 2020 a time...

Re: Just Checking In.......

With CFB not really being governed by one body like the NFL, there could be different rules for all conferences. Yep, and taken a step further, teams within a conference could take a position of either/or. Say like Maryland or Rutgers took a position to not play football this coming season due to b...

Re: Just Checking In.......

My guess is if they have to go fanless several sports at the schools will be cut, because football and basketball funds all other sports at schools. This is already beginning to happen. The MAC has started to make several changes to their postseason tournaments and Akron cut a few sports from their...

Re: The Battle Lines for NIL Issue......

If it is possible for the NCAA to screw this thing up and destroy college sports, they will do it. Well, the NCAA’s approach to managing college athletics to date has resulted in getting themselves into this current quandary, they’ve got no one blame but themselves. They’ve managed to paint themsel...

Re: The Battle Lines for NIL Issue......

I got a good laugh out of the article (Sports Illustrated), the author, was saying pretty serious stuff about the issues at hand and his thoughts on where things may end up, the sins of the past and some possible outcomes of no action by the NCAA. Then at the end he comes up with a more lighthearted...
