Re: New Coaches: 2017
Tracy Claeys was fired by Minnesota. This I'm not really feeling good about. I feel like he was thrown under the bus for supporting his players. Granted it seems like those players might have been guilty of something, but he was supporting the rest of the team's right to air their grievances. That w...

Re: Early Draftees
Anybody who gets McNichols will be getting a steal. I was very high on Ajayi as well, they look like similar RBs. Patrick Mahomes declared. That marks a sad, sad day in this college football fan's viewing life  . Absolutely my favorite player to watch. Seems the hot thing now is to find QBs tha...

Re: Rose Bowl
USC is going to get some good mileage out of Sam Darnold's arm in the next couple of years
My only concern for them is whether or not Clay Helton is "big-time." I doubt he will manage to put USC in position to win a playoff.

Sorry Cane, I just read Brad Kaaya is leaving Miami to enter the NFL. That doesn't seem like a terrible decision on his part since the class is so weak. NFL scouts have been liking Kaaya since his freshman year, I think he will adjust well and be a mid-round pick. And sorry Fanatic, but I just heard...

Re: Cotton Bowl
Geez Fleck, I understand you not wanting to put more pressure on your offense and running the offense that got you here, but would it have killed you guys to use a bit of the hurry-up on that last drive? You can even run the ball if you'd like, just quit snapping the ball with 5 seconds on the play ...

Re: Ohio State - Clemson
Clemson's defense has been on and off all year. They were on Saturday. I'd wager they'll be off for the national title game. On these big stages with elite teams squaring off, I feel like it's often the defenses that choke first (like last year's edition). I think Clemson/Bama Part 2 will be played ...

Re: Rose Bowl
The field is a mess, whoever was supposed to get that ready should be fired. This isn't football, this is, "run a bunch of people deep and when one of the DBs inevitably slips just throw it to the guy for 7 points." Miami Beach Bowl is the same way every year. You can't play defense...

Western is hanging tough, down 17-10. They have done a better job against the run after the first two series, but Wisconsin's size on the line might take over in the second half. Western is going to need a crucial turnover if they are going to pull off an upset. Their receivers can keep pace in this...

Yeah, but making predictions is always more fun than talking about what has already happened

Chip Kelly Pt. 2
Looks like Chip Kelly is on track to get fired yet again. I don't know what the 49ers management expected him to do with this horrendous roster, but alas, he's going to be on the open market. I wonder if any college football teams will show interest. Then again, I don't know that Kelly will have any...

Re: Washington v Alabama
I don't think people understand how this works. There's a lot of variation involved from week to week, but a team like Washington doesn't have the skill on the offensive line to match up against Alabama with 6-7 future NFL players on their defensive line. Ross and Pettis can torch slower defenses or...

Re: Washington v Alabama
I think that is right. I am not sure what you do against Alabama. Not sure anyone does. Washington played hard and were disciplined, just was Alabama is too big, too strong and too fast. I could not see a weakness in any player. I think Ohio State is the only team that could be them, if Ohio State ...

Re: Florida State TTUn
Najee Harris could be a program-defining player though, if Michigan were to somehow land him. If McCaffery, Harris, and Peoples-Jones turned into our next fearsome trio, that would be a very good sign. It'd take an upset though to pry him away from USC and Bama. He committed to Bama in 2015 but he's...

Re: Florida State TTUn
The Harbaugh regime has definitely stepped our recruiting up to another level and they actually know what to do with the players once they get here (yes, that's a knock against Hoke). Hoke irreparably damaged our offensive line because every single big-time recruit at those positions under Hoke was ...

New Coaches: 2017
I'm going to give a brief blurb on how I view the new coaches moving into their new jobs (check back in a couple years to see how I did :D ). 1. Matt Rhule -> Baylor: Mistake (for Rhule). Rhule could have held out for a better job. Decent coach who might keep the program afloat, but he will not main...
