Yep...my old "team" is always looking for a few good men....Never liked the team color that much...in fact, I haven't worn green as a civilian...not even for St. Patty.

Football 101.. FSU was eligible because they played and beat as many end ranked Top 25 teams last year as TCU has in 10 years.....and one of the wins was in the ACC CCG. It's not about being ranked #22 and #14.. Answer me this...Do you truly believe that TCU would have been ranked at all if they had...

LOL

I like it...we are finally recognizing that it is what it is....scholar athletes were over decades ago...college ball is the Junior NFL...kind of the minor league feeder program like in baseball. Except, compared to baseball, the college athletes travel better and some are paid more. The sports netw...

I am not yet sold on Notre Dame....Last year, they beat two teams that had overall winning records...Michigan (a down year Wolverine team beaten by Nebraska in bowl), & Navy (it's Naaavy!).... The Domers made their rep by playing USC close....the Ohio State double digit win was not surprising in...

It's not a question of "could a team beat another team on any given Saturday?"..it's more, what are the odds of that happening? Can Georgia Tech beat FSU on any given Saturday? Whatcha think? Sure? Why not? Of course? The record reflects that GT is 0-12 against FSU in the ACC.... Can TCU beat a Top ...

Who knows CLF? Maybe Wake Forrest can beat Ohio State..(Wake has beaten the Big 10 Champ in the past)...but, Wake, and TCU did not do as much to prove that they can play a top team as VT did or BC...or a bunch of other teams who didn't play in BCS Bowls. It's more a question of why in the world shou...

Get Ready for It...The Notre Dame Lovefest Begins Soon

I predict that the media will move off of USC some this year (the USC darlings have graduated, there is a cloud, ec) and it will Notre Dame that will be hyped ad nauseum. All mags will preseason list Notre Dame in top 5....Weiss will be hyped for coach of the year and Brady Quinn will be the Heisman...

Oh bull...until you can prove diffferent...quit crying...its not that difficult, for most folks, to research stats....

CLF...of course you don't trust data...because there is little out there that will support TCU as one of the elite teams in IA....and a lot which will suggest that they are not.

We've been around this argument before. Does Virginia Tech, simply being in the ACC, give sufficient reason for being ranked higher than TCU? No...Not just for being in the ACC. I wouldn't want Wake ranked over TCU, for example....but VT played a much tougher schedule and beat much tougher teams th...

I think Ball will be spectacular this season, that's why I'm taking them to be a "shock" and win the ACC. And why would Ball be spectacular? His fairy godmother wave the wand? Or you just have this "hunch"? ...he doesn't complete 50% of passes, has more INT's than TD's, his completion percentage ha...

I still think that a 2 loss VT last year (playing five end ranked AP teams)was more worthy of playing in a BCS bowl than a 1 loss TCU who really only played Oklahoma.

The Clemson/FSU early season matchup will most likely determine he winner of the ATLANTIC DIVISION....

Clemson has a leg up on schedule because they do not play Miami...if FSU loses to Miami, the Clemson game is a must win...Clemson may only lose one or two games.

ACC PRESEASON THOUGHTS

Last year was a "good" year for the ACC...I expect some fall off this year..(after 51 ACC guys going to NFL). My rankings and thoughts... 1. FSU- My homer pick. And why not? Noles have proven they can win the conference. Maybe the most talented and deepest overall team (along with Miami). Offense sh...

Re Noles schedule...much easier this year than next (when Bama, Fla, and Colorado are OOC) Toughest games....Miami and Florida...no tougher duo to play IMHO. These two teams beat more good teams than almost anybody. Next toughest...Clemson, BC, NC State..(Clemson will be loaded) Middle games...these...

CLF...you have no creds...

Beating teams who win, on average, 79.2 % of their games does indeed constitute a gold standard of sorts.
