Too many

Football is really a zero sum game...for every winner there must be a loser....with the proposed 32 bowls, it will take 64 teams...a lot of barrel scraping will happen to get teams with .500 plus records...the only saving grace right now is the allowance of the counting of a IAA win once every four ...

Actually...I think I see what you mean

Penn State put up points on the weaker Big Ten teams but the Ohio State vs Penn State game was a 17-10 battle... Ohio State also put up a lot of points on some of the same teams... 31 on Iowa 35 on Mich St 41 on Indiana 45 on Minnesota 40 on Illinois 48 on NW When Ohio State or Penn State met a good...

With regard to the 'Noles this year, no one ever questioned their defense, it was their offense that was suspect. That really didn't change with the Penn State game. In that game you had two great defenses and two mediocre offenses. For an offense that just "mediocre"...PSU did put up some points.....

LOL...

Maybe its my experience as a long time Nole ticket holder that has influenced me.... I expect the Noles to be sorely tested as they play the Big Boyz of the Big Ten. After hearing Big Ten fans wail on about their "smash mouth" football...I have been mildly surprised at FSU's experience...Went to Col...

LOL

I take all rankings with a grain of salt, actually....I looked up this power ranking guide and their game predictions for last year...if you had bet on their predicted outcomes...you would have lost 10 bets and won five...oops.

LOL

Folks use stats in discussions with you...I've noticed a pattern...if they do not support your argument...you label them as spurious...and weakly thought out...I'll take CFN seriously before I take your self reported stats using the methodology that best supports your hypothesis...Like, dropping 199...

LOL

We all can arrange stats to bolster our arguments....that's the nature of statistics....here is one site that ranks conferences 2000-2004 on their set of stats....

What makes a difference

I wonder sometimes about the effect of a conference championship game...is it good or is it bad ? Individually, a team definitely has more risk liability having to play a season ending game against another pretty good team...in the ACC, it would mean a 13th game against a Miami, FSU, VT, Clemson, BC...

"From 1990-2000, the Big Ten has won a higher percentage of their non-conference games playing a tougher schedule, won a greater percentage of their games against "major" teams, won a greater percentage of their games against teams that went to bowl, won a greater percentage of their bowl games, wo...

I like intelligent conversation

KTFAN...you offer nothing but personal opinion and smack...nothing much worthy of engaging. I stated that FSU's SCHEDULE was tough...and backed it up...and that the ACC is tougher than you think....Also that FSU played Miami and Fla every year in the dynasty run...(both of whom were winningest teams...
