Certainly not my point. As a matter of fact, the current system is participation based. In the yesteryear. You played the conference and all that mattered was wins and losses. No rigged SOS, boycotting and ESPN manipulation.

We have had this conversation multiple times. I see college athletics differently than most. Frankly, college boards of trustee's are derelict in their duties and college Presidents redefine wimps. I think civility is the only requirement. Mr. Billybud is a professional writer that is succinct. I'm garrulous, and there are many in between. I think the moderator has always done well. If Spence says no..there are reasons and I don't suspect it is because of wordiness.

And the operative word is 'ruthless.' My observation is, and we have had this discussion, that conferences with parity are difficult to pick...mostly Western Conferences. Those that are dominated by the same teams, not so much. I predict UCF will go undefeated and we can just ditto the last 14 years...
