South Florida - UConn

Postby Cane from the Bend » Fri Sep 19, 2014 11:10 pm

Well, the last two minutes were somewhat exciting.

South Florida kicked a field goal, to go up 17 - 7 @ 6:04 left in the game.
UConn had to punt with a little over 5 minutes left.
South Florida was held to a punt with just under 2 minutes left.

UConn with only 2 completed passes in the game, up until 1:49 was left in the game. They completed 4 consecutive passes to find the end zone with 1:19 left on the clock, bringing them within 3 points of So Florida.

A decently kicked onside ball by UConn's kicker, but the Bulls jumped on it, and secured a 17-14 win.

Neither team looked at all good here. Yes it was rainy & a little slick. Yet, I've seen high school football games where the players performed better in just as bad, if not worse conditions.

Like I started this posted, other than the last two minutes, this game was a snooze to lead into the weekend.

.

Eric, how's that Southern Illinois vs Purdue game looking?

Southern Illinois looks dangerous this year. The Salukis got Malcolm Agnew at RB who transferred from Oregon State. He's a pretty shifty and tough runner, so he should run wild on Purdue. That will actually be an entertaining game. 8)

I honestly had no interest in the USF/UConn game tonight. I caught a glimpse of it and saw how rainy it was, and I knew from the get-go that these offenses would stall all night. In addition to being very bad on that side of the ball, the conditions weren't going to help. I have no idea how UConn completed that few passes.
