Re: Not In Our Backyard
Cute...They technically aren't against Michigan holding a practice in Florida.
Just not on a normal student spring break. Where athletes, as students, are supposed to get some off time.
The NCAA will uphold that motion since no other program does practice during student spring break...and the crocodile tears will be shed about misuse of the poor athletes. Very cute lawyering and I think it will be successful.
Harbaugh will be one and done in Florida.

I suspect you have the correct conclusion. It does beg the question if the SEC would care if they were going to say, California or Texas?

Re: Not In Our Backyard
Nope...but the Big 12 would care if Bama went into Texas...
Right now, the Big 12 boards have been upset about the SEC encroachment into Texas with the moving of the Aggies to the SEC....
Bama, LSU, Arkansas and Mississippi pulled in 11 top Texas kids this year to go with the Aggies 15. Every one of these SEC schools pulled in more Texas kids than Oklahoma, who usually make a living recruiting Texas

Your new bottom line, "Hold at Home, Block on the Road" has to to one of the all-time best.
Your observations may be correct. Here is mine, the owners of College Football will not allow putting any restriction on recruiting.
I just finished reading a biography of Thomas Paine, (Nelson). So many great quotes. Paine was furious that Washington had done nothing to get him out of French prison during the Terror, and accused Washington of using his presidency to enrich himself and his allies at the expense of his former veterans and the country at large. Paine proclaimed: "Monopolies (NCAA) of every kind marked your administration (Mark Emmert) almost in the moment of its commencement. The lands (college football) obtained by the revolution (National Championship) were lavished upon partisans (See Below) the interests of the disbanded soldier (Student Athlete) was sold to the speculator (ESPN); injustice was acted under the pretense of faith; and the chief of the army (College Presidents) became the patron of the fraud."

To no surprise, sports apparel and equipment is the most active category in college athletics. Led by Nike, Adidas and Under Armour, the category has more than 80 deals across Power Five conferences and schools, the NCAA, College Football Playoff and Bowl Games.
