They're Alive!!

Postby Cane from the Bend » Fri Sep 13, 2024 4:42 pm

------------------------------------------------------------

So to speak ...

The Pac-12 name is still operational as an entity, at least until July 21rst 2026.

By that time, should they not expand to the NCAA minimum of 8 teams, they will become declassified as a conference.

Presently, the two hanging on, Washington State and Oregon State are what remains.

Yesterday, the news broke; Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Colorado State are set to join the Pac-?? as of the 2026-27 Football season.

This would leave them two programs shy of Conference status. So, the questions become;

Will they stabilize to 8 teams by the deadline?

Or will this new found merger fall apart before they go active?

And, if they do succeed with this venture, who then will the other teams to be included in this realignment move, so they indeed are a viable conference?

If FSU & Clemson find their way out of the ACC, and should the ACC disband, then that would leave two teams in the geography of the Pac without a home in Cal & Stanford.

If the ACC stays together, with or without FSU & Clemson, then it'll be interesting who the Pac would seek to add.

Kind of an absurd annotation that was mentioned with this news; Before any of these teams are accepted into the Conference, all committee members must agree.

Yeah, pretty sure getting all of 2 votes to pass the motion wont be all too difficult.

“Kind of an absurd annotation…..”……….. Ya think??????

I mean, just why in the hell would they even try to give the illusion of ‘democracy’ in the environment of ‘anarchy’ that College Football has become and willingly operates in????

There they go again……. trying to sell that ‘Pig In a Poke’ to the multitude of idiots walking around in a fanciful state and dreamworld.

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
