I've Seen the Movie so Many Times...

Postby billybud » Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:59 am

Oh Gawd! Same script, different actors and remakes. I've seen this movie over and over the last 26 years. It was twenty seven years ago that FSU last kicked a field goal on the last play for a win. There have been plenty of wide lefts and rights to end the game with a loss over the past twenty six years.

I know the movie. The heart rending ending always gets to me, even though I know it's coming.

Once again, just like last week, the opponent kicks off with 53 seconds left. FSU goes down field on two passes and a pass intereference and the QB centers the ball for a 55 yard FG with 6 seconds on the clock. I know the script.

But wait. This time Ole Yeller lives, the shot missed! An alternate ending! My 26 year old, who has never seen a walk off FG for the win, is beside himself. We linger on with the stunned crowd to watch the credits roll. Someone slipped in an alternate script. Old Yeller lives this time.

The name of the movie: "It Doesn't Matter That You Beat Clemson Since Maryland Will Beat You Next Week."

LOL...I'd be disgruntled too if my team was a historic Mormon munchie snack for the Noles. Heck, even Boston College has feasted on the Mormon munchies. When you go 0-4 over the last five season against the ACC, you are bound to be a little surly.

And I like it.

BYU is the "munchie" referenced...easy win.

The movie I've seen four times is "BYU beaten to a pulp by FSU". BYU is no Maryland that is true. Maryland is a worthier opponent and deserving of some respect. And you are what you are, an inept smacker.

Everytime that FSU has met BYU (four times), FSU has beaten these weak sisters by double digits. BYU was beaten by an average of 23 points in these four games. No, Maryland will not be a pushover like the Provo pussywillows, I agree.
