In short...stick with what you do, don't tinker or adjust for what you think the other team will do. And he backs up the why's. (Shares much of the philosophy of Mike Leach...the parts that I like.) Work your plays till you have them down, rep on rep...put it in their heads...not a huge play book (very different from the norm)!
*As a player this can simplify things even if you have a wide base of plays. When you are on offense and you start adding and altering things, the first thing that happens is technique is lost. Players are working on the play in their heads and they are working on getting themselves to the right spot at the right time during the progression of a play. But if the foot work, hands, and body position is wrong...well, you get there just to get beat. The other thing that can happen is they start thinking on their technique after jacking that up while working new plays (after chastisement) next thing you know they aren't in the right place through the progression of a play.
I see this so much...even in common business. Football, basketball, work...whatever, do what you do. When things get to reactionary, you lose what you are...and you are always in a chase. And that is one race you can never win!
Well, I can't wait to see how this translates on to the field.

Holgorsen's Plan
Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
