PAC 12

Postby donovan » Thu Sep 01, 2011 11:39 am

General feeling from my cronies, most of whom are drinking Metamucil and Ensure is the Pac XII is up for grabs. I am of that opinion. There will be spoiler games and coming out unscathed is highly unlikely. Oregon has been bitten with the absurdity that if they lose to LSU, the season is over. Darron Thomas was quoted as saying as much. Nott sure that is the pressure that makes any sense whatsoever. I think the will crush LSU...but they will take some losses where least expected. I do not think they have the depth and stamina to run their offense as designed and if they weaken, they will get burned.

Oregon State will win a few, and though they are one of my favorite teams, will be in the middle of the pack. University of Washington will continue with the same conversation of years past...they are a team that if they are not in the National hunt, they give up...ridiculous. Washington State does not have the guns, but will be a spoiler team.

Stanford's Andrew Luck could well come out as the best QB in the country. If all goes semi well, they, as predicted should take all the marbles of the PAC 12.

Utah will find that the Mountain West is not exactly PAC 12 football. They will do well in some games, but the week and week rigor may get to them.

USC will be 3rd page news, even in Southern California.

Arizona State may be a surprise.

Colorado will realize they are not close to the Pacific Ocean.

California lost too many players and they will be in the middle of the hunt

The worst situation is the 12 teams and the North South bologna. The round robin was better. Greed is the grease now days.

How long until the Pac 12 becomes the Pac 16. I read an article out of Austin, TX today (written by a reporter who covers the Longhorns) make a prediction that Texas, OU, Texas Tech, and OK State would bolt the Big 12 and join the Pac 12. He said expect this to happen before October.

I don't think Stanford wins the Pac 12. I think they make a step back with a new coach. I think it is Oregon's to win (however, I don't think they go unbeaten). I do believe Oregon beats LSU (even with LSU minus their starting QB and #1 receiver LSU keeps this one close).

What are your thoughts on UCLA?

This is Neuheisel's year. I think they will start throwing the ball, this is what he does best. If they are successful, then they can do damage. He needs a good bowl appearance to keep his job.

I thought what he did best was accept a job, break the rules, and then burn the programs to the ground as he leaves for greener pastures. Colorado and Washington have not recovered from his tenure as coach at those schools.

On a serious note, I will be pulling for UCLA over Texas again. The Bruins win in Austin last year was fun to watch! :D I also hope they take it to their cross-town rivals this year.

Neuheisel had me fooled at Colorado...but he hasn't done anything. I am shocked that he still has a job.

I too am shocked he is still employed as a head coach.

That article on the Oklahoma President backs this up. Man, you even said before October...and I do think it is the week before just from the wording of the prez. I'll say it now, the Big 12, 5 of 9, or whatever is done!

Oregon State for the Win. 8)
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
