NW vs Refs

Wow what a horribly called game. They give Michigan a interception then the worst no call in football history. The Michigan player rips Persa's helmet off by the facemask and no flag. Then to add insult to injury they flag the NW coach for arguing the no call.

It appears the Big 10 wants to keep Michigan undefeated what with OSU sucking and Nebraska not living up to the hype.

Wow...I can't recall ever seeing a coach get flagged!

(Refs missed about 3 face masks today from my not-so-good angle at the UTSA game....none flagged. So. Alabama tackled high all day!?!?)

I have seen several coaches flagged but, when you are right the officials have egg allover their face. HOW could they miss it!

I'll give you one for the books. Miami makes a 50 yard pass but the receiver doesn't have solid possession until after he's out of bounds. The ball was sliding down and he almost dropped it but by the time he got control his next step was out of bounds. The ref called it incomplete and then the replay booth overturned it.

There was another call later but our guy sort of deserved it. One of our defenders got to their QB and he was laying on the ground and their QB was leaning over him and talking smack and our guy threw the ball up at him and the ref flagged us for unsportsman when it was their guy standing over a downed player. The face of the ref said it all. He definitely has some severe dislike of Tech, but personal opinions have no place on a field.

A few days removed, throwing the ball in someone's face is unsportsmanlike. I can't remember it being called before but I can remember it not being called a few times. Either way, it's not something you should do and I would rather not see my team dip to that level. We won the game, and I'm moving on.

Oldest borderline call there is. I have seen it from midget league up and rather often. The thing is, I have never seen it happen where the hovering guy isn't the one that started it. You can get a guy not really over a guy saying a little something and a hot head might ping him. The latter should get flagged...not the 1st IMO. There is something that penetrates deep when I guy is standing over you, something carnal that is already a hairs breadth from triggering the fight or flight response! And when you are on your back, the flight response is not there and not an option. This is the closest thing I have ever experienced that closely resembles someone attacking your wife or children. Even in a situation where a real threat never truly arises. It is a very deep thing! And when you have a ball in your hand, it is coming out. (Hint: A sure fire way to know the credibility of the offense by the hoverer, when the ball is released the player comes to his feet almost instantly.)
