BYU vs. BOISE STATE

Postby warrriorsfan808 » Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:49 pm

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE Boise State scoring first, not the surprise, #99 the NOSE-GUARD intercepting the ball and running it back 39 yards for a touchdown!!!!! :o :o :o :D :D

Most definitely an ugly win!!! Great game on defense for both teams.

If you just started watching this game, you would think it's boring. I'm having a pretty fun time watching these two defenses go at it.

Man, that's an atrocious call to go for two points. Why on Earth do you go for two points when you have no timeouts remaining?

The mistake was not going for two; rather, Hill should have pulled the ball down, and ran back towards the middle . . . there were no Boise defenders in the area . . . but he choked when the lineman stumbled to the ground near him, and attempted to force the throw . . . result, Boise St wins . . .

I still think as a coach you can't do that to your freshman backup QB. If you have timeouts in your back pocket, then possibly you can justify it. But if you can't stop the clock and you plan on kicking the ball off with 3 and a half minutes, a first down for Boise State practically wins the game.

The trouble with Boise's kicking game, why not attempt to drive the game into overtime. Just that in itself could have redeemed some of the quality of this game. Kind of like the GT @ VT game at the beginning of the season.

Exactly, let Boise State beat you with their kicking game. Usually the team goes for two and risks the game on one play when they feel they can't hang with the superior team for much longer (Jacksonville State / Ole Miss 2010, Boise State / Oklahoma 2006, etc.). BYU was in no position to do that and it was completely unnecessary at that point in the game. They could have easily won in the overtime period the way that game was going.

Petersen, let the kicker try and make a field goal. He has to try and improve in game situations. I don't think the coaches are doing a very good job with play calling on offense. The offense is broken.
