Re: Please explain reception rule: Fl vs Fl St
Both teams hitting hard and often late. Borderline dirty play from both teams...spearing guys in back when they are down, etc....both teams.

Flor dominated quarter 1 and 2, quarter 3 was all FSU, and quarter 4 has been all Fl. Flor has had little trouble running the ball on this defense. I think they are getting tired.
That should be the ball game.

That's it. Fl St just could not stop the run. They are not used to playing that many snaps and their competition went up a few notches in this game.
Sorry Billybud. They fought hard to get back into the game.

If USC upsets ND then Flor plays winner of Bama vs Georgia for it all. I am not for that but I can't bring myself to root for ND. I don't like Kiffin either. Can they both lose.

The coach that is responsible for Texas' past success is the head coach for Fl.

Yep. We're in the worst of all possible worlds. Either Notre Dame plays for it or we get an intraconference championship for the second year in a row. College football teams that only have to take care of their business in front of them can't get it done for the second year in a row
I think Florida State's defense did get tired. You can only play so long on the field and not get worn out. I still don't think Florida's offense is that good, but they played well enough in the trenches and the running backs did their job. This isn't enough for me to forget about Missouri, UL Lafayette, and Bowling Green among other poor offensive performances this season. Florida has the feeling of a pretender, but you can't discount what they've done on the field. Wins over Texas A&M, South Carolina, LSU, and Florida State. You have to give them credit for being a great team. Winning ugly counts.
Now the one question for me is, if Georgia manages to beat Alabama, do the pollsters do an "emergency reset" on the polls to avoid a Georgia/Florida rematch? I wonder because the game itself wasn't that good early this year. At least with Florida/Bama it's not a rematch. This would be. I wonder if they would have Oregon skip ahead of Florida. And then you have to think about the computers. Do they like Florida so much that moving Oregon ahead wouldn't matter?
I'm cheering for Notre Dame so we don't have to worry about this

Too bad that FSU could not pull this one out.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Well, as much as I hate that nd will be playing in the national title game . . . I am moreso pleased that they won this game, than having to see florida play for a championship. (regardless the conference they are from)
I can teloerate watching `Bama/Georgia run all over the irish, and humiliate them in hilarious fashion.
I would likely tune out if the gators were in 'The Game!'
At least until half time, to check in hoping to find them losing.
If they were; I'd watch the rest of the game.
If not; I would not.

A ND loss would have created another SEC Title game between either Bama/Florida or Ga/FL, and I didn't want that either.
I'm still worried that if Ga does beat Bama by any margin large or small, that there are still people that will want to jump Oregon to the top.
I know I'm cynical, but I put nothing past ESPN. I have already heard a few of the announcers use the words "body of work" about them, and I know what that is code word for.
I guess Ga should have gotten Bear Bryant to coach them in the 70's instead of Dooley.

Georgia will be fine if they win. A victory over Alabama would be enough to sway any doubters. ESPN sucks up to the SEC constantly, a lot of it deserved at this point. They'll waltz in over Oregon.
