BYU v Boise State
Who cares? Run with your own kind. Don't be something you are not. As a side note. Targeting has got to be under review....not serving the purpose for which it was designed. Boise has not had a spark all year. The coaches have no confidence in the team. Play calling reflects that and has all year. Without a QB...Boise style football is disaster. Even Southwick is not the guy. I thought Hedrick had potential, not so.

Part of the problem is the guys who they let get away. Taylor Kelly and Taysom Hill would be interesting guys who can run the offense, and they were both from Idaho. I'm surprised Boise didn't snap one of them up. I also wonder why no quarterbacks have seriously looked at Boise from a transferring perspective. I think that could be an ideal situation since there doesn't seem to be an heir apparent to Kellen Moore.

I realize you guys are discussing more fundamental problems for the Broncos, but from a 1-game perspective, it was also very unfortunate that so many turnovers stalled any chance the game might become more interesting.
I don't know much about Hedrick, but it still might be possible that he can grow into his role there. Clearly, you know more than I do here, but it does seem a bit premature to write after his first start against a solid and well-prepared BYU team that appeared to have one of their best games all year.

The athletic team of my geographic region is superior to the team from your geographic region.

I think you are right, Duke, the game had may Boise flaws. Hedrick may well develop; but I do not think that is totally their problem. For some reason this year, there has not been the confidence in the team, as whole, as the past many years. The play calling, knowing they lost Bryan Harsin, to Texas and then Arkansas State may made some difference, but Petersen is in charge and the play calling is so un /Boise....They need to do what Eric said, get some of these local kids and start grooming. Some good players choose to go to smaller schools, not every kid want to attend a massive college. They will be all right. This is not just the "showy" year.
Anyway, BYU played well and needs kudos.

You have to play BYU like Virginia did...hold on to the ball, run clock, and keep their rushing game on the bench.
