Can't believe how well WVU is hanging with Baylor right now (end of third).

WVU hung pretty well with Bama too.

I'm not that surprised. I want to believe in Baylor as a national power. They have a very good team, no doubt. But they've had a couple of games like this where the offense hasn't clicked as well as it normally has in recent years. Outside of the fourth quarter against TCU, their offense hasn't been that good against the Big 12. It took them forever to cross the 300 yard mark today, the running game was non-existent, and Petty was under pressure all game. The receivers weren't blowing past the coverage as the WV DBs threw them off from the snap.

Plus, Morgantown is going to be one of those places where it is really tough to win. WVU seems to have a very good homefield advantage.

Loved it! :D :D :D

I have increasingly looked at 2 stats when examining teams, 3rd and 4th down conversions. Baylor has been very good at converting, they were 18 for 23 on 4th down conversions alone coming into this game. But WVU held them to 3 for 16 on 3rd down, and 0 for 2 on 4th. If someone would have told me they would beat Baylor with 3 TO's, 3 key injuries (both starting corners and the starting RB), and have 14 penalties....I would have never believed it, never! They have been doing a lot of tooling on the D, working in a lot of players, and have now settled into the 3-3-5, a complicated D, but 1 I love to see when it is done right. They got it right yesterday, I hope it continues.
