Rivarly Week

It is my favorite week of the year. One thing that I never thought I would say is that I am tired of how bad *ichigan has become. I would rather TTUN be undefeated contending for a championship than playing for bowl eligibility. It is time for the powers that be to make a good hire for the Weasels and make them relevant again. Most of all, I want to go back to flooding Eric with endless Skunkbear jokes all of which were in the poorest of taste. It's time to stoke the fire of this rivalry and it is up to TSUN to come together and make a good hire for head coach and join my Buckeyes to breathe some life back into THE GAME. That is all.

Up until this year Ark played LSU the Friday after Thanksgiving. That game had become a very good rivalry. However, the SEC has paired A&M vs LSU and created a fake rivalry game: Ark vs Missouri. They are calling it the Battle Line Rivalry. They are making a trophy and everything.
The teams have only played each other 3 times in the past 100 years. Maybe it will turn into a rivalry but right now it is just the next game.

College football paid way too big of a price just so TV could have a National Champion. This has always been a great week, even when the teams were mismatched. Great events, in all areas, seldom have to do with the main attraction, its always about people and relationships. When did we decide money supplants that?

I always like the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Ax. This year should be even better than most. After a Thanksgiving meal I'll be ending the weekend with a big heaping spoonful of Apple Cup. Just hope the Huskies don't tank it again in Pullman. That's whats fun about these games tho, crazy things happen.

I like the Big10 rivalries best, but I general record the iron bowl and several others around the country.

The Apple Cup is on watching also. After many years living in the Puget Sound area, I was still a Cougar fan. Right after that, well they lap a little, will be the Civil War. I am pulling for Oregon State. In both of these games, no predicting what may happen.

Yes, and the players are lobbying, now, for a Bowl match up.

Did "We" decide ..?
I believe you answered your own question before you even posted it.

4 I do not accept all his conclusions, but I find it hard to argue with his observations and the above examples. He specifically used American football as one of his examples. That was in 1899. American football, although its practice could be socially advantageous to the psychological cohesion of the community, it is an economic side-effect, because it is a display of conspicuous leisure.

Yes ...
Other than Labor Day weekend, the Miami/fsu week, Rivalry Weekend & Bowl Season are the most pumped I get for the college football year.
Swamp Daddy, you mention High Noon, you are right:
12:00 noon games, November 29, 2014
Michigan @ #6 Ohio State --- The Game (abc)
#16 Georgia Tech @ #9 Georgia --- Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate (sec)
South Carolina @ #21 Clemson --- The Battle of the Palmetto State (espn)
Kentucky @ #22 Louisville --- Governor's Cup (Kentucky) (espn2)
Illinois @ Northwestern --- Land of Lincoln Trophy (espnU)
Purdue @ Indiana --- Old Oaken Bucket (BTN)
All of this just to start the day (not withstanding rivalries having been omitted due to their contrived nature)
