Is Boca Better..?

?.. than the U ..?
Right now, I do not think Miami has much of a chance to compete in conference play.
Florida Atlantic is taking it to the `Canes at the moment, and for the first time this game, halted a Miami drive. The score is 17-17 in the 2cnd quarter, and FAU has the ball.
I do not believe the Owls have the depth to beat Miami late in this game. But the `Canes are looking less than impressive on both sides of the ball.
There just doesn't seem to be any defensive leadership. As I type this, Miami just recovered a fumble, but only because of the hit where the defender's helmet looked to get the runner under his chin.
Had that ball not come out, it was a big hole that the runner clearly made first down yardage on 3rd and 9.
This could easily be another 6-6 season.

On a side note: Utah State is taking to the Utes right now: the Aggies are playing hard; let's see if they can keep it up.
Utah 14
Utah State 14

Yep, Miami was only able to put up 3 ...
Then, after an exchange of downs held to a punt by both teams, FAU muffs the catch, the `Canes jump all over it from the 20, with 1:36 left on the clock; and three plays later, 4th & 1, inside the 10 yard line, settle for a field goal ... that they miss. Wide Right -- Right Billybud?
FAU takes over from the 20, with 1:06 left in the half, march down the field, and have to settle for a 2cnd down field goal attempt due to the lack of time ... a 55 yard attempt, missed also to the right.
Half Time
Miami 20
FAU 17

4:35 left in the 3rd, and check this stat:
Miami 2 of 9 on 3rd down
FAU 7 of 11 on 3rd down
If it weren't for the turnover blunders by the Owls, the `Canes would likely be losing.
Three turn overs, two of them deep in Florida Atlantic's territory, Miami turned into only 6 points.
Current score:
Miami 30
FAU 20

Yeah...wide right. Maybe the Caners can learn like FSU did...went from Wide Right to Kicker U....Four Groza winners, the current NCAA scoring total holder, conscensus All American the last two years, and now, the nation's number one kicker (Kohl's Kicking) has committed to FSU to continue the new tradition.

We missed 2 field goals last night. One of which the line of scrimmage inside the 10 yard line (wide right, from the right hash......?).
We did make 3 other field goals. Though, when we get into the blunt of our schedule, especially inconference play, these things will matter.
My guess is someone's foot is going to be sore following this weeks practice sessions.
