Having the semi game playoffs on New Year's eve seemed ludicrous to me, but I am so out of touch I try to pick my out of touch battles. Then I read this article and now I think I am in touch with reality.

The Rose Bowl being played on the afternoon of the 1st was the first thought that came to my mind. The Rose Bowl is an institution too, so I don't really think it's that big of a deal. I stay at home and watch college football on New Year's Eve anyway.

I will watch on New Year's eve, because I rarely go out that night, but it is yet another arrogant move by the powers that be in CFB.

To me, New Year's Eve was the night for watching the Peach Bowl, and Celebrating the New Year, while the game was still playing. It was a fun tradition.

This year, the game will be played in the afternoon ... because it got bumped backwards for the playoff game to receive the prime time slot.

Yes, it is arrogance, to break tradition for your own selfish agenda.

Most of us with families get a lot of consideration for our football interest. There is a point where Mrs. Donovan says...enough is enough, especially when I don't always know the names of the teams that I am watching..

I generally know the names of the teams, but they don't and that is an issue sometimes. I get " what possible tie do you have to this game." They don't understand that I don't have to have a rooting interest to watch a game. I often see more unfolding in a game I have no rooting interest in. The games that really mean something to me, often times are the ones I let emotions rule what I am seeing.
