LSU May Shut Down?

The Louisiana governor wants to raise taxes to cover a $940 million state deficit. And says it will prevent an increase to $2 billion in deficit, next year.
That's an absurd amount to increase. Generally, deficits build, and climb gradually. The state's total current deficit had built to $940 million, how in the world is it going to more than double in one year?
He says he is not using scare tactics. So, if he is being serious, then he should be impeached.
Not because of the beloved LSU Tigers ... instead, because of his comments, "If you are a student attending one of these universities, it means that you will receive a grade of incomplete, many students will not be able to graduate and student athletes across the state at those schools will be ineligible to play next semester. That means you can say farewell to college football next fall."
This isn't merely a strong arm maneuver, it is laying down the iron curtain.
It is one thing to ask for statewide budget cuts, and trimming back on university spending. But, to close entire campuses, and telling students, they are going to receive an incomplete grade & seniors will not graduate --- what happened to the option of transferring your credits to another school, so that you could avoid the incomplete.
These students are paying money to take these classes, and purchase class materials [books, computer programs, art supplies ect...]. Telling them the education they are paying for has zero value is reprehensible. It is not "students" who are essentially at fault. And not all of them are on a student loan system. Some students are not granted the same loan amount, and thus pay for the rest out of pocket. Others pay purely out of pocket.
Now, Gov. Edwards may get what he wants in the immediate sense. But, I wouldn't expect to see him voted back for another term.
