Never dropped below 13 here in western NC....no snow accumulation...it is cold, but not frigid in early morning then warms up to above freezing by afternoon.

Almost balmy compared to the midwest.

.

Last week, on Wednesday into Thursday, we were @ -50 degrees [windchill]

Yesterday, one week later, we were upto +58 degrees by 5:20 pm. One hour later, we were @ 33 degrees.

Today, we are sitting @ -5 [air temp] and -15 [windchill]

Tomorrow it is supposed to be back into the +30's range.

We are truly on a roller coaster ride on our temperature gauge.

I noticed Chicago's temps have been extremely similar to South Bend's every day this past week. Which tells me it is all coming off the Lake.

Starting to think North Carolina mountain weather is looking rather ideal ... at least the `nole seems to paint a pretty picture. Though, he is a `nole, so you don't know if what he's saying is accurate or not ... as they say, Never trust a `Nole. But, in these seasonal conditions, I might have to take his word for it. I'd be less inclined to take him at face value if he was a gator, of course --- in any event, it has to be better there than here, right now.

Nothing more pitiful than a below zero lizard....there's a reason that gators don't populate the Minnesota lakes.

Yeah, but gator tail makes good fish bait.

It also makes some good jerky.
