I think the transfer portal is going to be a common occurrence for many players and many teams. It is going to be hard for teams to develop players and also depth.

The circumstances here were a bit different.

Chris Steele was roommates with Jalon Jones.

Steele asked the coaching staff on multiple occasions to be roomed with someone else. He was very uncomfortable with being paired with Jones.

The coaching staff kept brushing him off, saying, yeah, we'll get around to it. But finally, Steele decided they were not listening to him, and entered the portal to get away from a toxic environment.

Shortly there after, Jones was alleged to have been involved in two separate incidents of sexual assault in that room, within 30 minutes of each other. One where teammates apparently interrupted, and prevented it from going too far.

Jones then entered the transfer portal amid allegations.
