Youngstown State vs Samford

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sat Aug 24, 2019 4:55 pm

Okay, I get it, I'm a junkie ...

Nevertheless, it is College Football, and it is on right now.

Youngstown is impressive. They are playing tight assignment football.
In no better words; Samford is merely struggling in this game.

Early 3rd quarter:
Youngstown St. 24
Samford 7

It appears Diaz is the man they have been looking for no matter how the game ends.

In the end, it was the D line for florida that made the difference.

Miami had every chance you could get on that last drive, but the line match up was an utter nightmare.

The missed field goal made it so the `Canes had to get in the end zone. And it never felt like that was going to happen.

Just too much for 3 first time O-lineman. [Right Tackle, Left Tackle, Center]

Hang in there, Cane. For sure, that one was a head-shaker...... I’ve found that dozing off after 4 shots of 1792 while sitting back in my recliner and watching Arizona and Hawaii helps.

Sweet dreams and have a good night’s sleep....... 8)

I didn't get the offensive line at the end. At the snap, they all stood up, erect, like the were wooden soldiers.

This is the type of matchup that should happen every year....great example of what other discussions have centered on.

Well, I don't do alcohol ... I don't wind down very easily, especially after a loss.

But I certainly am watching the Arizona/Hawaii game.

Warriors QB Cole McDonald has 4 Touchdown passes, and 3 Interceptions.

Hawaii was up, 21-7.

Arizona comes back to tie it up.

Hawaii puts the ball in the end zone to end out the 1rst half. Leading 28-21

We have a track meet on our hands.

Donovan; what is that you say about teams losing focus when visiting the Island..?

Khalil Tate drops back, no one open ...

Scrambles ...

Runs the ball all the way down to the 1 yard line ...

Tackled before he can stretch the ball, or jump into the end zone ...

00:00 on the clock ...

Hawaii wins by a yard.

45-38

Well, since Florida/Miami talk is here. Ok, so the Gators got the win. I checked their schedule. I am not downing the team or the fans. They not only have UT Martin but Towson also on the slate. Why two lower level teams for such a powerhouse Gator squad?

Never take the away team in Hawaii if they have not been there for some time. Too much distraction. Was a fun game to watch...good for Hawaii.

The true freshman and RS freshman on the Cane offensive line had a tough night....a couple of months ago , the left tackle was in high school and now was facing a premier FBS pass rusher,

Ten sacks.

But you can see that the Hurricanes are building something.

Oh, sorry, didn’t know that....... I didn’t drink either until I became a Mountaineer Fan. There’s a saying around these hills and hollers, ‘There’s a way you can if one is a True Mountaineer Fan’ they drink and have experienced the pain of a broken heart’.
