Appears the Coach’s Guillotine........

Postby Mountainman » Sun Sep 29, 2019 6:44 pm

....... has been rolled out to the Public Square.

Chris Ash at Rutgers has reportedly been unceremoniously beheaded, while rumor has it Clay Helton at Southern Cal is having his neck size measured for a custom made stock.

Thought I would bump-up this old post...... looks like we’ll need.

No details yet, but I heard on WVU Talk Radio that Tom Herman is cleaning house at Texas and the Schino thing at Rutgers that has been on again and off again is back on again.

UPDATE:

Matt Luke, Head Coach Ole Miss, fired
Barry Odom, Head Coach Missouri, fired
Charlie Strong, Head Coach South Florida, fired
Steve Addazio Head Coach Boston College, fired
Frank Wilson Head Coach UTSA, fired
Todd Orlando Defensive Coordinator Texas, fired
Tim Beck Offensive Coordinator Texas, fired
Tony Sanchez Head Coach UNLV, fired November 22nd, but was allowed to coach the final 2 games of the season.... which the they won.

Forgot to mention Chad Morris Head Coach Arkansas, fired (btw, where’s Doss???)

I can’t believe Herman hired Tim Beck to start with, he isn’t a good coach.

Not a Guillotine Drop; no firing ... but not seeing this one coming.

Chris Petersen steps down as Washington Huskies Head Coach, citing he needs to recharged and wind down a little bit from coaching.

Petersen is not leaving the program, though. He is taking an administration role within the Athletic Department as what they are calling a Leadership position.

Jimmy Lake takes over ... rumors mounted that Jimmy Lake was on the first train out, to whomever offered a better job to him. Some are saying, Petersen wasn't feeling the passion for the game right now, and his stepping down this year, was to prevent Jimmy Lake from leaving.

So, Petersen out; Lake in.

It appears as if the goings on at Washington have a familiar Urban Meyer and Bobby Bowden ring to it. Where Meyer stepped aside and took an administrative position with the University and in Bowden’s case where an up and coming assistant coach was threatening to go elsewhere.

With Jimbo and Bowden it was a little different....Jimbo was hired as a head coach in waiting....and his contract stipulated that he would be the head coach at a specified time or FSU would pay him $10 million. Bobby dragged his feet and hoped to build support among boosters to pay Jimbo and let him move on...and, of course, that did not happen.

You kind of wonder if his son has had a relapse or maybe he just doesn't want the grind anymore. It is too bad because I think he is a star coach. Better than most give him credit.

Mike Bono, Head Coach Colorado State, Bono and Colorado State “mutually agree to part ways”.

Looks like L@ne K!ffen might end up at Ole Miss.

NO idea why anybody would want this guy as their coach.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Kiffin might finally be ready to be a head coach. I’m not sure that is the right job, but for the first time ever, I think Kiffin might be ready and up to the task.
