Covid hits the Big 10 ...

Wisconsin has had 12 players & head coach Paul Chryst have tested positive.

Unfortunately, due to the Big Ten's foot~dragging to influence a forced no season year; with the late start to kicking off their first game, no Big Ten team will be able to makeup games suspended --- Thus the Wisconsin -v- Nebraska game is cancelled, with no rescheduling date.

If that odor you smell has a familiar scent, but you cannot for the life of you identify the aroma, rest easy and don’t be troubled. It’s just a whiff of a product usually generated and exposed after intellectuals and bureaucrats gather to discuss, decide and implement a course of action.

The intellectuals and bureaucrats, while denying they were the very ones who created the need for a ‘course of action’ to begin with, refer to it as an ‘Oops’. While others, the ones who must inhale the stench and deal with the consequences, call it a “brain fart”. :x :x

I agree. You also have to wonder if Wisky decided that if they can't have their top 2 QB's they are going to opt out. You wonder if they believe a postponed game isn't a loss.

According to initial reports, Wisconsin reach the limit number of cases set by the Big 10 that forces them to halt program activities.

Maybe they just nudged a few extra numbers to create that scenario for themselves. But the downside to that if they did, is the possibility of a second wave hitting them.

If they were to miss just a couple of more games, they will be out of the running for a Conference title.

From what I gathered, the Big-10 had a clause, saying a team must have at least 6 games played, in order to be eligible for a Big Ten Championship appearance.

With 1 game removed from an 8 game schedule. It puts the Badgers into a disadvantage situation.

It also hurts Nebraska, because now they have 1 loss to Ohio State, as well as a now nonreplaceable game, cancelled by their opponent's inability to field a team --- The Huskers will be 0-1 going into what should be their 3rd week of play; now reduced to 7 games, unless they get hit with the bug.

Yes, I suspect you're right.

Especially watching Minnesota struggling against Maryland, at the moment.

Michigan's victory is starting look less impressive.
