I think this was a good hire for UCF. Probably not a long term hire, but no one that is successful there is going to last long.

Yeah; and he already made a huge move ...

Miami picked up Travis Williams as the new Line Backers coach. He's an excellent position coach, and even better recruiter. Along with the hire of Tavaris Robinson as the Secondary Coach, Miami was looking to become unbelievably formidable in recruiting.

Malzahn just came in and hired him away from us, making Williams his new Defensive Coordinator.

The war for Florida is alive and well.

Gus...... assembling his staff to complete for players. And this freelance no restriction Transfer Portal in going to change things a bunch, and all of the changes won’t be good for College Football, IMHO. 8) 8) 8)

The transfer portal already makes a difference for teams and it usually doesn't favor them. It is an easy way for them to make their number, but mostly it puts the power in the kid's hands. So it should create a situation where coaches don't over promise things.

There are kids losing scholarships as well as high school kids not being offered schlorships being facilitated by the way the portal is currently operating. :? :? :?

Yes, that is happening too. The kids not getting offered out of high school is the big problem. It is supposed to be a scholarship program to help kids get a degree and losing high school kids to the "free agent" pool is a consequence. The schools are always going to try to work this to an advantage. Ohio State swung and missed on a QB when Haskin's went to the NFL and Burrow took the grad transfer route. They got Fields in the Transfer portal. Had they not got him, they wouldn't have made the playoffs the last two years. The larger schools are benefiting plenty from it - which is usually is the case.

Yep, narcissistic adults with personality and behavioral disorders and wrongheaded, stupid, immature kids need appropriate governance........ maybe this time the NCCA will get it right. For the good of the adults, the kids, and the game.

The NCAA abusing their postion for years has brought this all on. Every bit of it.
