This Smells of NIL to Me ...

Yes, JT Daniels entered the Transfer Portal, and there is the difference of Bennett to Young to consider ...

However this move is otherwise Groundbreaking.

George Wide Receiver Jermaine Burton Transfers to Alabama

After winning the National Championship with the Bulldogs vs the Crimson Tide, he will now be playing for the fighting Sabans come the 2022.

His 2021 Stats ---
26 --- Receptions
497 --- Yards
5 --- Touchdowns

He was figured to be the #1 WR for Georgia in the Next Season, which would have increased his numbers in thrown to target, as well as Yards and assumed potential TD's.

As mentioned, sure, one could point to Bryce Young being a better overall QB than Stetson Bennett. Accuracy + Time in Pocket.

But let's be real.

He's coming off of a National Championship winning season, where his team was seeing a return of a National Championship QB.

And though many Georgia fans feel like they are general managers, who get to dictate to Kirby who they believe the starting QB should be.

JT Daniels did start the season for the Bulldogs, and led UGA's offense to a whopping 3 points versus Clemson. As the only TD scored in the game was by Georgia's DB Christopher Smith, returning an interception.

So, there is nothing suggesting that Daniels' move out would prompt his decision. Since Bennett was his primary passer.

I just hope for his sake, Young will find his hands enough times to compensate the move, if nfl aspirations are in his sights.

Bama may need another Wide Out, though, he isn't likely to be the #1 on roster.

So, what is the NIL option looking like?

`Cause that I'd be interested in seeing how that all falls into place.

I read somewhere where the NIL was intended to help ‘student athletes’ earn a little money while attending college. There was no mention of it being used as an incentive for recruiting ‘student athletes’.

……….not so long ago, a couple of weeks maybe, I read where a freshman quarterback at the University of Oklahoma had to relinquish over 1 million dollars in NIL money and two new automobiles after his failings as a quarterback and his decision to transfer to the University of South Carolina.

I’m glad hear that stench of what NIL has become has, to this point, only triggered your olfactory nerves to ask, “What’s that Odor????”.

I still get a laugh whenever I think of what Jimbo Fisher said about NIL…….. ‘…..back in the day, we used to just give them a bag of cash.’

Oh, and BTW, keep an eye on what’s going on at Southern Cal, and how Lincoln Riley is practicing ‘Roster Management’………. he’s writing the book on ‘How to Use the Unintended Consequences of the Galactically Stupid’

Not sure how he did it, I didn't think he had any eligibility left. But I'm not too excited that Stetson is coming back. We shall see.

The NIL is being treated like booster money on the side of the table you can now see. Show me the money.
