Iowa - v- Iowa State

So, it finally happened ...

In his 7th Season as head coach in Ames, Matt Campbell got his first win against Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes. And it is the first win in the series by the Cyclones, since 2014. Coincidentally, that game was also played in Iowa City, where today's game was played. So, ISU still hasn't won the Cy-Hawk Trophy on their own field since 2011.

It was what I thought it likely would have been. A tough defensive competition.

Nobody was going to look like world beaters in this game. They rarely ever do.

But, I took Iowa, simply because I needed to see Campbell be able to get over that hump, before I believed it. Well, today they did just that.

10-7, with a missed Field Goal by the Hawkeyes, to finish out the game.

Congratulations to the Iowa Cyclones!!

This is could be the turning point of the program.

Today has been a wild, up to now.

Texas loses by 1 point, when Brice Young should have been Flagged with a Safety, which would have forced Alabama to try for a TD, and not be able to kick the FG to win.

Texas A&M fell to the Mountaineers, of Appalachian State.

Marshall invades South Bend, and humbles the Leprechauns on their Home Field. [Freeman is now 0-3 as ND's Head Coach]

Washington State went into Madison, and Jumped around the Badger W.

North Carolina had another close call, versus Georgia State, 35-28.

Kansas State slapped Mizzou around, 40-12.

Pitt and Tenn are playing in Overtime as I type this.

And there is so much more to go, tonight.
