30 Hours ...

Postby Cane from the Bend » Fri Aug 23, 2024 6:00 am

And counting ...

6 hours from Noon, and 24 hours from kickoff thereafter.

Are we ready yet??

I can only imagine the nerves rattling around, along with the edginess pent up inside the Yellow Jackets & Seminoles, in Ireland.

Will the drastic time zone shift get to either team more than the other?

How different it will be to not just open on the road, but out of the country?

Especially knowing that you're game 1, and everyone is watching.

For them, a 5 pm kickoff, 5 hours ahead of Eastern time zone. So reverse that of what a Hawaiʻi game is like.

And here I thought it was my more of a fringe pick ...

I did have a feeling, by how Ga Tech looked last season. They seemed to be a team in build mode. This year may be that spring forward to show what they can be.

FSU grabbed DJ Uiagalelei from the transfer portal.

He wasn't great at Clemson, and had some decent play makers that made him look better than he is, at Oregon State.

I will admit, there were a couple of times that I had considered flipping that prediction. But I just couldn't.

This is why we play the games, and do not talk our way through the season.

Now I wanna see what SMU vs Nevada delivers us. I don't expect much out of the Montana State/New Mexico game ... then again, who knows?

Well, I was wrong about the New Mexico / Montana State game ...

New Mexico got ahead early, but then looked lazy, like they just expected Montana St to lay down.

A short shift in momentum changed that, bringing the game within 3. The Lobos came to life and began asserting themselves, stretching their lead to 31-14, two minutes into the 3rd quarter.

But those pesky Bobcats refused to go away, came back, scoring 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to beat UNM, taking their first lead, with 10 seconds left.

Not a good start for Bronco Mendenhall's campaign in Albuquerque.

Bad enough to lose your home opener. Even worse when it's to a FCS opponent.

Well done………. I flipped over to ESPN Gameday just to watch how Nick Saban would do in his new role. My eyebrow raised when he was touting The Ramblin’ Wreck in the game. I must admit that a thought crossed my mind when he picked those ‘ Hell of an Engineers’ that maybe he was just kinda, maybe was hyping the game and being a good ‘employee’……. Which begs the question, you don’t have any relatives up around Monongah, WV do you?????

I'm ready!! Need the Dawgs to stomp Clemson to set the pace for the year. They have a TOUGH schedule.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
