For all of the hubbub about who the predictionists were forecasting as conference favorites ...
This game tonight has real ACC shaping implications.
Syracuse at (5-1) has a chance to be a serious disrupter. A win in this game would put them 4th In-Conference. It would put them ahead of Pitt with the head to head win, and they play Va Tech next week, who holds the same (2-1) Conference record.
Then the Orange play a manageable schedule, with their biggest game coming in their season finally.
Boston College (4-3) / (1-2)
Cal (3-4) / (0-4)
UConn (4-3) / (No Con)
Miami (7-0) / (3-0)
They miss SMU & Clemson, so right now, the game against the `Canes is what could make their season. But they have to get by the Panthers tonight.
Pitt, much to the West Va faithful chagrin, is currently undefeated.
Beating the Cuse will give them a bunch of momentum as they go into a heavy Conference stretch.
Winning tonight will essentially eliminate Syracuse from the ACC title run, then, Pitt's schedule gets rough:
SMU (6-1) / (3-0)
Virginia (4-3) / (2-2)
Clemson (6-1) / (5-0)
Louisville (4-3) / (2-2)
Boston College (4-3) / (1-2)
The games vs SMU & Clemson will decide the season for them. Virginia cannot be overlooked, as they are playing so much better than they have in recent years. Louisville is no pushover, and Boston College, despite some inept execution of plays, has shown they can compete.
If the Panthers continue stride, they have a real shot at winning the ACC.
Pitt has the lead over Syracuse: 17-0
The first quarter has just closed out.
The difference in this game, McCord throwing 3 Interceptions. The last going for a Pick-Six.
Right now, Syracuse's offense, is Pitt best friend.
The Cuse just turned the ball over on downs, to start the 2cnd Quarter.
Pitt is coming out for just their 10th offensive play on the night.

Sigmund loves posts such as this………. Going inside the mind of a fan who’s favorite team is a contender. Where he finds intelligence, analysis, anticipation, hope and positivity.
…….. which he then compares to his findings gathered from between the ears of a Mountaineer Maniac, who watched the game, and then concludes, ‘the sum of the square of the sides of any right triangle is equal to the square of the hypotenuse’.
