Cane's 3 Point Value Predictions Game

Postby Cane from the Bend » Mon Dec 18, 2006 6:05 pm

Okay fellas... (and gals) I know this is last minute and all, but I thought I'd give it a go for anybody interested.

Here's a game I've played with friends of mine over the past couple of years, independent from this site.

I thought I'd bring it to you guys, because, well, it's what we do.

<>

The object is simple.

Same as the predictions game, in that you choose who you feel is going to win each game. Yet, you also can receive two other possible points per Bowl.

How? you ask... well lemme explain.

You can obtain 3 possible points per game.

1. point by choosing the correct winner of the Bowl matchup.
1. point for choosing the correct final score.
1. point for getting the point spread correct.

Example: say you choose florida over Ohio State, with the final score 35 - 31.
Then Ohio State wins, 21 - 17.

You would not get a point for game winner.
You would not get a point for the correct score.
But you would get a point for the point spread, because of the 4 point difference.

Note: predictions for each Bowl must be in before the start of that Bowl. Once the game starts, predictions for that game are closed.

<> all rankings are based on the current BCS standings
<> all times given are eastern standard

I like you example.

Cane, in our predictions game we pick scores of games, why don't we just use the predictions there and apply them here for those who want to play. That way we don't have to repost all our picks. After the games are over anyone can check the predictions by clicking on the name of the participant in fantasy sports. They cannot be changed or edited after the game time for each game and no one can see the picks before the games are over.

If we do it that way, I am in.

It isn't a thread it is a controlled picks game called "fantasy sports" If you go to the black box titled "Fantasy Sports"(top left corner) you can enter you picks and it will keep track of everything except your scoring system. At the end I can help you copy and paste the predictions and you can score them.

I'll play too. It's pretty fun to pick the bowl games and add different twists and styles to regular picking.
