I am also pumped aobut the cotton bowl and watching McFadden play in his final Razorback game. Go Hogs!

It does appear the Luigs is going pro early. From his standpoint, his draft stock would not be increased by another year.

Here's an old thread that the first few pages might be interesting to reread considering current events at Arkansas.

Memories.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Petrino surfaced in the press here in Louisville again today as a reporter couldn't find him but located Petrino's father in nowhere, Montana and interviewed him instead ( ). The bottom line was Bobby P. would be interested in the Kentucky job if they talked to him. Actually, I am pretty sure from various comments around here UK's AD would not want him though many talk show fans would take him. UK doesn't pay much and it's pretty well a dead end as the school drains the football revenue to pay for everything else in sight.

The second point his father made is he might take the first coaching job offered him.

Not sure if his dad likes to talk BS like Bobby does or not; so, take it all with a salt shaker full.

I believe it'll be the first job he's offered. Not only was he publicly embarrassed by the affair, but now he is tagged with being willing to lie to school administrators for his own gain. I think he needs to sit out another year or two before this thing boils over, maybe take a positional coaching job in the NFL to kind of hide out in the background yet still be doing something at least. Coaches find a way to overcome this stuff. O'Leary with the document scandal, Price with the club incident, Leach with the Craig James incident (regardless of whether that story has legs, it was a PR hit against him), and there are others that I'm not thinking of. And Lane Kiffin manages to keep finding work :D

I think somebody that should get another shot is Jeff Jagodzinski. Anyone remember him? He was head coach at Boston College for two very successful seasons. Maybe Matt Ryan had a lot to do with that, but the guy did win and we won't know if he had a large role in that. He was fired because he wanted to talk to the New York Jets about their head coaching job. BC fired him and the Jets didn't want him.

Nothing but pools of drool on UK message boards with fans wanting Petrino. This might be a once in a decade chance for UK to grab a coach a step above a nobody. The big stumbling block being AD Mitch Barnhart at UK.

Still, who knows. I hope they get him as I know when he (inevitably) leaves the program will implode. [Note where they are in the CCR rankings right now.]

Oh well, maybe that's wishful thinking from a UL fan.

I read through this thread because of Swamp Daddy's suggestion, then saw this comment and today's date, and just about responded to Derek, when I realized ...

The year on that post was 2012, just on the same day.
