Super (Duper) Conference

If you could put together an 8-12 team conference that got an automatic bid to the National Championship Game every season, who would you have?
1.Texas
2. USC
3. Notre Dame
4. Ohio State
5. Oklahoma
6. Nebraska
7. Michigan
8. Florida
9. Florida State
10. Miami
11. Alabama
12. UCLA (So they steal some talent from USC)

8. Nebraska

11. Penn State
12. maybe UCLA?

An even better question to follow on to this: Would this goody-two-shoes conference then become corrupt to obtain the rewards of the BCS games? Would they sell-out their good behavior that earned them this treat they wouldn't ever have had otherwise? Should the NCAA offer a reward of a BCS game to teams with the best behavior? Or maybe just a cash prize to the school with the best record but the least despicable behavior, since a team that's 0-11 playing in a BCS game against thugs wouldn't be very good competition. I'd say it'd be a nice gesture. Then the 0-11 teams could build up a program. Getting $10M from the NCAA could build a new facility and a bonus $10M match to goto academics...
Having an 0-11 team get slaughtered in a BCS game wouldn't help them build a program. Teams don't get the money from the bowl games, it goes to their conference where it is divided up by all teams. That is why the conferences try and get alliances with the bowls. The more alliances and bowl eligible teams the more money they get to split. (the teams do get a certain amount of the money for expenses and such)

Here's my list and the number of years of consistency that make me want them in my conference.
1. Georgia - (Last 5 years)
2. USC - (Last 3 years)
3. Texas - (Last Year)
4. Ohio State - (Last 6 years)
5. WVU - (Last year)
6. Auburn - (Last 2 years)
7. LSU - (Last 4 years)
8. VT - (Last 4 Years)
9. Oklahoma (Last 4 years, except last year)
10. Oregon - (Consistency, #3 ranking 4 years ago)
11. Miami - (Consistently good)
12. GT - (Last 2 years, This year will be good for them)

Having all of those teams in one conference would give a major advantage to the highest ranking team that didn't make it in. I believe if it was me I would take my chances with the other 107 teams that didn't make it. Your odds of making it to the championship game would be better, even with the super conference having a guaranteed bid.

I've always thought of that. Who would come out of a conference made of the worst BCS schools?

Wake Forest
Baylor
Illinois
Indiana
Washington
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Syracuse
My pick, for 2005 at least, would have been Vanderbilt. How about you guys?

Last year definitely Vandy. Most years Illinios or Washington.

A bowl game that pays BCS money has to get BCS ratings, otherwise no one will pay. Do you really think a 0-11 team against a 10-2 team would draw well?

I don't know if they should be gone for a DUI or drug conviction. There should be a program and punishment in place, and it should be followed. I would agree on things like robbery, assault, or rape if convicted. They likely wouldn't be fired from their job in the real world for a DUI or a drug conviction, why should this be different?
