Here are the results from Week 3. Pretty impressive, as the group is over 56%. I expect that will not continue. WVU, you were not excluded, but we added one new participant this week and your row was hidden. Fixt.

Wow...I am 10-5 (.667 %). I have never bet on a game before. Wish I would have had money on all those games. However, as soon as I put money on it, I would go 0-15 and lose it all. I think I will stick to this....and not risk the lose.

Games early are easier to pick. The law of averages has a way of catching up with you. It is like playing Scottrader with play money and then starting a real account, it gets harder.

That's definitely true, Spence. I'm like Doss, never bet on a game and recently became tempted to with my success with this  . Still, like you said, I'd probably go broke afterwards. I'm not saying I have an all-knowing type knowledge, but since I'm obsessed with the game, I formed some judgments on teams in the preseason. When I saw some confusing lines for Week 1 and 2, I did pretty well (think I went 9-1 over the first 10 games). This week though, those games are really hard! I had a lot of trouble deciding. When there's a pool of games and the performances become public knowledge, those spreads get a lot tougher.

Now the NFL is ridiculous. I was on the phone trying to help my brother who was doing spread picks for CBS I think it was, and when you've got teams favored by a FG or something, those become really 50/50 propositions.

Is that historically correct? Early is easier. Because I know near zero about any of the teams this early. I couldn't tell you right now how many seniors WVU lost last year. :|

I know guys who think the NFL is easier to bet then CFB. I used to bet some, I never lost much.....or won much. It mostly gave me a reason to watch games that I otherwise would have little interest in. Now you guys give me a reason to pay attention to those games and I don't lose money.

From my experience with gambling; when you think you have it all figured out.......don't bet, buy an ice cream. I have not problem with gambling, but I think if you are going to put much money down you need to have some control on the out come. Bet a little on a pool game. Maybe skins on the golf course. Stay away from betting on things out of your control. It never works out.

It is mostly because there are more mismatches early. Florida vs. a 1AA sister of the poor - take the points - no matter how many - bet the farm. Florida vs. conference foe - that is harder.

WVU lost eighteen players total from last year's team.

Not a gambler, so please explain. How is this 0-5? This should be 2-3 by what I thought I was saying. What did I do wrong?

BYU -6.5 (- means you go with the favorite - lost)
Arkansas +1 (I thought + means you are going against the favorite which was Arkansas -1 and I won)
Clemson +6 (I thought + means you are going against the favroite which was Clemson -6 and I lost)
Michigan State +10.5 (I thought + means you are going against the favorite which was ND and I won as they only won by 3).
Virginia Tech -4 (- means you go with the favorite - VT won but did not exceed the spread so I lost)

Would the simplest way to do this be to just name the team you're taking?
For instance - if I just say BYU - you know I'm going with BYU to cover.
If I just say Georgia - You know I'm going against Arkansas to cover.
If i just say Boston College - You know I'm against Clemson to cover.
If I just say Michigan State - You know I'm going against Notre Dame to cover.
If I just say VT - you know I'm gouing with VT to cover.
Those were my intentions.

..fanatic, if you are going against Arkansas you pick Georgia +1 or whatever the spread would be. +points means your team can lose, but you may still win if the difference is within the spread. Say Georgia get 8 points (+8) and they lose by 3, that is within your spread and you win. You put the team you want and the spread. If you fall within that spread with your pick - you win.

No need to put the spread, just the team. If you put Arkansas +1 and the line is Arkansas -1, you are taking Arkansas and quoted an incorrect spread.

Thanks guys. I've always said there is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask them.
