I don't know enough about the ACC to debate any of that except for Coker being the worst recruiter. Miami is an NFL factory. They pull the best talent from all over the country. Does he not do well in Florida high schools? Is that what you mean?

Butch Davis is why they were doing so well with the recruits. Well good thing he's gone, Eric Winston went to Midland Lee, and went to Miami, stupid Benedict Arnold.

He's not going to do much anything this year. In 2007, it will be Kyle Wright's year to shine. The rest of Miami probably won't live up to expectations early on because of the new coaching staff, but they have the greatest potential in the ACC. Florida State is probably next in line. I think FSU and GT would face-off in the CCG and get upset.

Remember, the post isn't just for the scratching-the-surface previews, but if anyone has any notes about teams or players, they can go down here. If you're going to make a long post on a team, it could probably go down on the Season Preview thread.

irish88, you still think that BC can get to a solid bowl game this year though?

Best Team???

GT. They will win the ACC. IMO
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Seriously?
I don't think GT is an ACC 'contender' but that's a pretty good 'risk' anyway.
I think B.C. is making strides, relative to the rest of the conference, I predict they will represent the N. division (atlantic).
I think Miami is good, but they seem to be rebuilding.
FSU, would appear to be the front-runner, for S. division (coastal?).

GT has never beaten FSU in the ACC...and I don't think that Reggie is a great QB...he has thrown for under a 50% completion rate the last two years....

The ACC in my estimation...

Miami
Clemson
FSU
VT
BC
NC
GT
NC State
Maryland
Virginia
Wake
Duke

The winner of the Clemson/FSU game will meet Miami in the CCG.

The ACC is too good, all those good teams beating up on each other will prevent them from reaching the national championship game a lot a lot of years. There will be plenty of years that Va Tech, FSU, Miami, and Clemson that will give a team their only loss all season that will prevent them from making it to a National Championship game.

I don't think Reggie Ball has to be a superstar, just average, and that will even be an improvment. The defense is going to get it done this year. I don't think the Yellow Jackets are the best team in the ACC, but I have a "guess" that the chips will all fall in place. I think they might win the ACC with 4 losses for the entire season because they make it out of a deep division. They'll be better, but I think they might have a scenario like 2004 Pitt.
