Donovan posted

Yikes...now we have a "nice" rule... you want me to be as smug and sanctimonius as Spence? and where are your dots...?

When someone is as dotty as you, I find it redundant to add dots, but...........

Okay, maybe I should clarify. I guess we've put this whole argument behind us, but dots aren't all bad. I guess it's the context in which they're used, at least for me. That's how I interpret them when I read them in certain cases. It's all about the voice, and the voice is difficult to translate on message boards. Assumption is a bad thing on message boards :D

I use them as I would speak...if there are dots, there is silence. I hope to emphasize my "usage" of the words...sometimes silence is important in how your saying something. Just a habit on my part, and I don't mean it in a sarcastic way.

I an still convinced that West Virginia had a huge influence on the great american poet, e.e. cummings.

His poem..

how colding hereless. air theres what immense
live without every dancing. singless on-

ideas can swallow a man;three words im
-prison a woman for all her now:but we've

Lewis Grizzard was a funny one. I used to read his articles in the AJC....(Atlanta Journal Constitution)
