WVU @ LSU

No Josh Jenkins going in. Devine hurt on an out of bounds hit. Sanders looks like he broke his nose. Mountaineers had 2 bad TO's. Added a poor punt to a great returner that gave LSU an easy TD. Yet, the Eers settled down and stuck the ball in the end zone. I like the character to do that.

LSU can not really do anything against WVU's defense. LSU is finding out the hard way that the SEC isn't the only place where teams smack you in the mouth! :D The Eers are starting to unload on them.

Down 17-7 the 2nd half will be interesting!

I really like the Eers D. They will have to work more with the offense missing key players. Special Teams is what scares me.

Special teams is a problem all across CFB this year.

But the Eers have specialized in it for years...I think they have filed 17 patents.

LSU's offensive line is playing well. There are some huge holes being opened up.

WVU is getting greedy with the shifts in the stack....they were playing for a pick! (I think they really wanted to get the crowd all over LSU.) The Tigers were smart in that approach. But I think they will pick him again before this games is over. The key will be when and where the Eers run the ball.

Terrible game for the most part. It reminded of the Arkansas game. Hey, let's waste first down most of the day. When you have 4 of 5 guys with moves and speed...and the other team lines up hogs. West Coast "extended" hand-offs should be 4 of 5 first down plays!

Even worse, you get 2of your big 3 weapons injured...other guys step up for 2 big drives, and they are guys who have demonstrated ability, then you put the broken guys back in the game. I will never understand that. To me it is a slap in the face to the rest of the team!

Losing to what is porbably the 5th or 6th worse offense in the BCS is ridiculous! :roll:

WVU's offensive line is not very good. It cost them the game. WVU ran for only 50 some yards.

With Devine hobbling, WVU had problems. But, LSU ain't chopped liver, either.

WVU's line is getting better, and they did better than I thought they would by just a hair. especially considering Jenkins was out. (Yeah, I didn't expect a whole lot!) Big teams with big fronts bent on big rushes are going to get through a lot. They have to use that quick 0.5 to 1 second, 1 or 3 step drop and pitch /swing the ball to the short space.

The special teams looked like early last year. Being inside the 10 and 15 killed them many times in that loud stadium. Divine or Sanders alone could have been enough to make the difference so I don't feel to bad...a good game to grow from.

The schedule set ups near perfect.

Next week - bye - (get guys back from injury) then...

UNLV
USF
Syracuse
@UConn
Cincy
@Louisville
@Pitt
Rutgers

I think Rutgers could be pretty tough and Cincy and Louisville may be better than I first thought. But I don't think any of these teams can play with WV. Rutgers could end up a ranked team (low.) And Cincy, Louisville, Pitt, and UConn could all be good enough to sharpen some claws. I love the schedule. It should really help Smith develop (with the pretty constant slope up) and allow the offense to build rhythm and motion.
