Was it your idea to have sections at Kinnick Stadium to alternate black and yeller (or gold). Looks pretty good!

I thought it looked great. There was some concern about pulling it off, due to the chilly temp at game time. Most people have a black jacket, but few have gold jackets laying around. Temp was in the 40's. I would have had a bunch of layers with a Gold Sweatshirt had I been going to the game and in a Gold section.

Iowa gets a week off now, then travels to Ann Arbor for a key game. Then Wisconsin and Michigan St.

That Ann Arbor trip is going to be a huge tell for the Big 10...it will tell just how good Iowa's Defense is AND just how bad Michigan's defense is. Michigan is awful stout when they are over top of the ball, holding them under 27 points is probably the key. I think the problem, as it appears now, is the Wolverines holding the Hawkeyes under 41, and keeping them from chewing up tons of game clock!

If I had to make a prediction, Iowa 38 - Michigan 27.

Indiana was like 93rd in the country against the run coming into the game with Michigan and they didn't play the best competition in those games. Iowa should roll in that game.

I actually liked the scoreboard the best. (24-3)

I doubt Iowa will "roll". They don't exactly have a potent offense either. Indiana might have more talented playmakers and Michigan is in Ann Arbor. I'd pick Iowa right now, but I tell you what--Denard Robinson will get his yards and he would get his yards against just about any team in the nation.

I think this will be a game that will be within 10 points either way. Iowa will not roll anyone, as they get very conservative with a lead.

I don't think Iowa needs a potent offense to score on Michigan. That is my point. A mediocre offense caqn generally score lots of points on a bad defense. Ohio State scored 73 on Eastern Michigan. Iowa can score 35+ on Michigan. A very good defense can usually shut down a good offense. Not saying Robinson won't get yardage. I figure Michigan can probably score 17-24 points. That may be only a 10-13 point margin, but I don't think the outcome will ever be in doubt.

If I am wrong, I will be the first to admit, I think Michigan has one, if not the worst defense in the B-10. The better defenses they play the more problems they are going to have winning. They will always have to hope they have the ball last with a chance to score to win.

Eric, this isn't a "I hate Michigan" kind of post. This is my "try to be objective" opinion of Michigan.

I do think Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa are the only teams I would pick as sure things to beat Michigan this year. I think Penn State is so inept on offense they can't beat Michigan. I think the rest will be toss up games.

I didn't take it like that. I think you're not giving Denard Robinson enough credit though. I think Michigan will score enough points to hang with anybody, really. The fact that he has matured so much as a passer and when he does the Tebow-esque fake-QB-draw that sucks people in for an easy touchdown over the middle, there are so many things he brings to the game. You can't really defend against that, and I think play calls like that (and with how well the offensive line has done and how well Robinson reads the zone reads) will work against many defenses and not just Indiana's.

Iowa will certainly score, but I'm just saying that Michigan only gave up 35 points to Indiana at Indiana when Indiana has slightly better skill guys than Iowa does. Iowa can try to control the ground with Adam Robinson and that will probably allow them to win the game, but the Michigan offense will keep them in it. They can take out MSU too, since I don't trust Michigan State's ability to keep Robinson contained either.

I'm not sure Indiana is better overall on offense. If they are, then Indiana will probably beat Ohio State next week. I think Iowa is every bit as good on each side of the ball as Ohio State. I think Iowa has a lot better offensive line.

I may not be giving Robinson enough credit, I guess because I haven't seen him against a defense yet. I think he is good, but I think once he plays against defensive lines that can push the line of scrimmage back and once he goes against linebackers fast enough to stretch out the play and fill assignment gaps - he won't do as well. I think what made Tebow so good is that he could take on linebackers with his body or his feet and I don't see Robinson as that kind of player. I do think he is very fast and I think is a good read option player that could help beat any team. I also know that once the ground gets hard and the air gets cool in the upper midwest that you have to be able to run between the tackles to win. Juice Williams had the speed to be a good option QB, some could argue -not the brain - but he had trouble when the cold winds kick up in November. And you know as well as I, that it takes a completely different team to win in November as it does in September.
