Oh UConn... Why?

24-24 with a minute 43 left on the clock, it's 3rd & 4 near mid field, and you have 2 timeouts ... throwing it long down the sideline is completely unnecessary... result; 4th & 4 and a punt...

Rutgers gained the momentum, marched the field quickly... kick the fieldgoal... and won.

poor, poor coaching.

TerrIble coaching. Get the 4 yards and have 4 downs and 2 time outs. If you feel like going deep try that on 1st or 2nd down.

Completely agree with that...

It also doesn't help when your punter is struggling to kick the ball down field... he had more than one that didn't make it past the 35... and their last punt went out @ the 37...

Rutgers started that drive nearly at midfield.

The Huskies would have been better off just going for it... pick up 2 or possibly all 4 yards on 3rd down... and if you only got a couple... use the 4th down to reset the chains... if you're going to punt on 4th down, the clock would have at least been running had they tried to pick up the first on the ground...

It would have put more pressure on the Knights... instead, they started with great field position, 3 time outs, and all the momentum... @ home!

Doss; you & I should take over the coaching staff in Connecticut... we probably couldn't do much worse than those imbeciles.

I'd almost say we could put Spence in as the Defensive back coach ( I believe he played at the Safety position is his hey day ), though; I was a running back / corner back, and I wouldn't be able to keep myself from yelling in someone's ear... so I'd be constantly telling Spence's people what to do...

I guess we could make him our wideout coach...

Billybud could be our Offensive line coach...

Donovan could be the press face, who deals with all of the media q&a...

Eric could be our mascot ( look I made room for you )...

And, I would have said, let GoBoilers be our water boy, but I'd be too afraid he'd keep spiking our sports drink...

I would make Eric head coach, he is definitely a big picture guy.

UConn and Rutgers look different every game, not necessarily better or worse, but different. Rutgers against UNC was really a 2-trick Pony. UNC figured out their game, came back on them and went on to win. Then Rutgers took the same 2-Trick Pony into Tulane and they had it figured out by the half (some thanks to UNC and film I imagine.) But Rutgers may have found their game last night, the freshman QB looks good. But he will run into his walls now, so Rutgers might go .500 this year.

I don't know what Edsel is doing at UConn? UConn has, for years, beat teams with smart coaching and a minimization of risks and mistakes. (It reminds me of trying to win a Championship in Nascar, top 5's out the wazzou and no wins. I think Edsel may be trying to reinvent himself and UConn, tired of running that solid 3rd or 4th in the Big East and being "in" every game and not posting losing seasons!)

Cane...that sounds good. I know I would make more money doing that then what I do now.
