Strange. I don't know how the computers could be so far off, since the formula's HEAVILY weigh on public opinion.
#1 IMO

Doesn't make any difference. Win out and Oregon is no worse than #2 proly #1 with so many others that will get beat. The only meaningful poll is the one after the regular season and before BCS picks.

I can understand why the computers have Oregon at #8 and I don't really have a huge issue with it. The humans are impressed with blowouts while the computers are factoring in the schedule. Stanford is their biggest win and it came at home. The Cardinal have been somewhat impressive, but that is a team with a few holes.

Actually...the Fiesta Bowl has last pick not the Orange. Thus you will see some sources having the BE Champ at the Fiesta.
If there was a possibility of a VT-WVU match though, I'm sure the Orange would take that. If FSU is the ACC rep, it would not be so attractive.

So let's say that the SEC champ goes to the NCG...and the Sugar Bowl always being the SEC tie-in bowl...does this mean that the Sugar Bowl HAS to take a non-AQ team over the 2nd place SEC team??
If so, I don't like these new rules, even though I'm not a fan of the Rose Bowl always picking a Pac-10, Big-10 matchup.

The rules for the Rose apply to everyone.

Then I don't like them.
I like the SEC tie-in with the Sugar Bowl, I just didn't agree with not letting USC and Georgia play in the Rose or Sugar in 2007. That was a perfect example of why the tie-in is not always the best, but I respect their right to have it.
I just think in that situation for that year...it would have been wise for them to drop the tie-in for that year and go with the game everybody wanted to see.

The Rose liked to take the B-10 teams because of how they travel. The Big 10 travels better then any conference and now adding Nebraska makes it that much better. Anyway, it was probably more of a money thing then a snub against Georgia. I agree though, I would rather have seen Georgia-USC or better yet Georgia -Ohio State that year.

Yeah, well...since the early 1900's they have always chosen a team from the West and the East and after WWII the started the Pacific Coast conference and the Big..pick a number conference or some variation. The fact tradition is not OK so people can have their NC....frankly...time they left our history alone and go play among or with themselves.
