Ark vs Ole Miss Black Bears

The game is in lightning delay....about 6 min left in 3rd quarter. Hogs lead 24-10. Best play so far: Joe Adams 97 yard punt return for a TD.

Bot Greg Childs and Joe Adams are out with injury. Glad Hogs are deep at the WR position but those guys are so dynamic...it will hurt some.

Again these refs are terrible. Mallett was hit hard well after the ball was gone, then the defender took his helmet off right in front of the official and no flag for either offense. There have been other terrible calls.

Hogs defense has played very well....a turnover and very short field gave Ole Miss their only TD of the day. You take away the Auburn game and the Razorback D is giving up 14 points a game. It will be interesting to see how Auburn does against one of the elite defenses in LSU today.

This delay is killing me.....I hope they show the entire game on ESPN Gameplan now.

Doss, have you ever seen a Razorback game, when you thought the officials did a good job? :D

Not much of a crowd there now after the lightening delay.

Yes...this is only the 2nd time this year where I think the officials have Bern down right terrible.

Man the last sequence of plays were just terrible. Double penalties, 3rd down Ole Miss, Hogs sack Masoli for big loss, then after the play they say Ark called timeout before the play, Ole Miss gets another shot and ends up scoring a TD. Why no whistle to stop play when Ark called timeout.

Razorhawk do you believe these officials have called a good game today?

As I type Knile Davis scored a 71 yard TD run. Hogs up by 14.

Well, the game is in it's second weather delay. The first delay took 1 hour. I hope this one does not take that long. There is 9 minutes left in the 4th and Ark will have the ball kicked off to them when play resumes.

Ryan Mallett, Greg Childs, and Joe Adams are out....all three have not played in the 2nd half. No word on any of them...I am guessing ankle for Childs, Knee for Adams, and Mallett was sacked/hit hard twice before the 1st rain delay....when they came back out Tyler Wilson has taken over the QB duties (I am guessing concussion symptoms).

Ark only leads by 7 points now....gave up a TD right before the 2nd delay.

I thought the pass interference was the proper call, our defensive back put his right arm out and held back the receiver. May not have been called sometimes, but not a bad call.

Some thought Adams was brought down with the horse collar tackle and it at first appeared it may have been. But when I saw the replay he was tackled by the shoulder.

Unlike the Auburn game that there were a couple of really bad calls, that may have affected the outcome, I haven't had a problem with the officiating in this game.

The weather delays really hurt and now there will be few in the stands for the final minutes.

Not much of a crowd left at all...will be even smaller after this lightning delay...especially if it last an hour like the first one. Not sure I would want to sit in a metal seat with lightning in the area.

I have never heard of anyone getting struck by lightening at a football game, and years ago they seldom, if ever, suspended the games. I was at the Alabama game in Tuscaloosa a few years ago and there was a lightening delay, and the fans were not forced to leave the stands. It actually just rained heavy and I don't remember any lightening. I think it is a factor of our litigious society.

Hogs won by 14....38-24 was the final. A game that took about 6 hours to play because of 2 lightning delays.

I made a couple of mistakes in my first couple of posts...Mallett did start the 2nd half but did not play after the first rain delay (I have to think he was evaluated in the locker room and showed signs of a concussion). And Ole Miss kicked a field goal off the Ark turn over not a TD.

Tyler Wilson will be the starter at Ark next year at QB....and the Hogs offense may actually be better next year. He may be the best backup in college football and would probably start for the majority of teams. The overall team seems to be more in sync with Wilson during the 2nd half of games. The Hogs seem to go out and put points on the board in the first half but Mallett and company struggle in the 2nd halfs. The past 2 weeks....Wilson has led Ark well in the 2nd halfs of games.

The game ball goes to RB Knile Davis...he had 176 yards (averaged 8 yards a carry) and had 3 TD's.

I hope Greg Childs, Joe Adams, and Mallett are ready to go next week against Vandy. If they can't then at least Ark has quality depth at WR and T. Wilson will do just fine at QB.

If nothing else, I like the fact that Tyler Wilson is getting some quality playing experience.

Exactly. Their reporting that after the game Peyrino said Mallett has a shoulder injury (on his throwing arm). The other shoulder has been hurt since about week 2 or 3. He has braces all over his body.
