Hide your laptop game....

Postby Dossenator » Wed Oct 27, 2010 1:24 am

Anyone going to watch Auburn vs Ole Miss this Saturday. Cam Newton vs Masoli. Hide your laptops folks. :D

Games in Oxford....I think it will be close for awhile. However, I think Newton will be too much and Auburn will win comfortably....and with his arm more than his legs in this game. I have a feeling Nutt will stack the box, Ole Miss gives up more passing yards than any SEC team, and they will give up big plays in the passing game.

I haven't checked the schedule yet. But I just don't see Ole Miss hanging around long. Auburn should be bent on a good showing, as talk arises of their margin of victory, given their poll position. I think this might be their "answer to critics" game. Though the criticism is mild, I think the boys will have some determination.

To beat Ole Miss will not stop criticisms of Auburns' weaknesses. That is like SJS to BSU. Auburn will stomp them.
Win or Lose - IT'S HOW YOU HYPE THE OUTCOME! BCS logic: When teams in the AQ conferences lose, it shows how tough those conferences are; when teams in non-AQ conferences lose, it is weakness.

Clemson took Auburn to OT...but Auburn has found a way to win as the season progressed. Against Kentucky, South Carolina, and LSU it might not have been dominating, but they found a way to beat these good teams. It's almost like Cam picks the game up on his shoulders and wins.

And San Jose State is dead last in IA in scoring offense...Ole Miss is a respectable #40...better than South Carolina, Air Force, Oregon State and the like.

People rarely treat the close ones with full respect. Yeah, often times you can say, "that it should not have been that close" but once it gets that close late in the game it does mean a lot to me when a team pulls it out, not by a call or crazy stuff, but finishing strong(er). Take the Clemson game, you let that go on through the early 4th...and you have Buster Douglas waiting to happen. And think, how different might Mike Tyson's life would have been if he'd have summoned up a 2nd wind and clocked Douglas...Trevor Berbick style?

I had to look for it...great video of the Berbick fight, when Tyson was truly "Iron Mike": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MriCci0ilt0
(Berbick is lucky, that right uppercut before that tranquilizing left hook would have landed him out of the ring and into the ER!)

Clemson had Auburn beat.....in regulation with seconds left the Clemson QB rolled out and had a wide open receiver in the endzone....the receiver dropped the pass. That would have won the game. Instead they had to kicked a field goal and sent the game into overtime. He catches that ball and Clemson wins. Usually you need a couple of breaks like that to go undefeated.
