West Virg vs Uconn

Postby Dossenator » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:20 am

I missed the game but saw that Uconn won the game in overtime. I looked at the box score and WV dominated most categories. However, Uconn had 0 turnovers, and WV lost 4 fumbles. I did not see the game but I am guessing this is the reason WV lost. I was at a high school football game and missed this one. I really thought that WV would run through the Big East this year.

Seems there are lots of surprises this year. Can't take any team or any game for granted -- and impossible to forecast the inexplicable.
Win or Lose - IT'S HOW YOU HYPE THE OUTCOME! BCS logic: When teams in the AQ conferences lose, it shows how tough those conferences are; when teams in non-AQ conferences lose, it is weakness.

It was the TO's...the one in OT was the final nail.

Peeling the onion one more layer.

Way too much tinkering in an effort to compensate for Noel having a hitch in his giddyup. Having Geno run more, well OK, but let's pick the why and when. Get moving, preferably to the right when the pocket is tight early. If you can jaunt for even 2 yards rather than lose 8 or throw it away, take the couple of yards.
Putting in several new plays and looks, OK, don't get haughty on some effective changes introduced in the last 2 years. If you can roll in a few new plays and still get plenty of practice in on the staple plays then by all means. But when you practice new plays enough to lose synch and rhythm, your are "tinkering" too much!

Only one good thing could possibly come out of this game. The 2 back set with Clarke in. Simple fix for a sore toe..bring out a big boot and a unbroken tap dance shoe. As soon as Devine got hurt at LSU, this is the first thing that rolled out of my mouth. Then Sanders, I only adjusted that to say now go one deeper there and still have Clarke...and you can alternate the small guy with about 3 guys. When Clarke was in the game last night they just crushed UConn. Why they would run a couple of plays and then go back to tinker plays, I haven't a clue.

This team has 3 losses, if Doc was running the O, there is a very good chance they would be undefeated. Ridiculous! K.I.S.S.

I am not sure Stewart is the right guy. His beating Oklahoma in the bowl game, may have been a bad deal for W Virginia in the long term.

That could be. But I think the development and recruiting has went well, this season the offense has looked disoriented. And Doc Holliday is the difference between last year and this year...I think his absence is noticed, I don't think Mullen is a good OC.
