Which Bounce-Back Candidate Will Have the Biggest 2011?

Just an interesting question. Which traditional powerhouse will have the best 2011 season and why do you think so?

My vote is going to go to Georgia, who I think could be in BCS contention. Without A.J. Green though (assuming he goes to the NFL), my guess is that they improve enough to qualify for a New Year's Day game. I do think they could easily win the East next season with more experience, but I'd have to assume Florida will be on the up-and-up.

Notre Dame definitely has Brian Kelly and Tommy Rees going for them. If Rees continues his high level of play, I'd like to think Notre Dame will be better, but they play an even more difficult schedule chalked full of BCS conference teams next season. My guess for 2011 would be 7-5 or 8-4 with 2012 the year to watch out for the Irish in the national title picture.

Tennessee I think will get better, but probably at an average 6-6. This is a very young team, but Dooley doesn't have a lot of moxy right now and the momentum kind of died out this season. I guess they can be 6-6 this season, but I think they'll lose to Kentucky to close out this season. Bray seems like a QB for the future.

And Texas, I'm not sure what to say about them. Gilbert has struggled mightily and they have no semblance of a rushing game. They also don't have much help on the defensive side of the ball. I think they'll play much better next season, but I doubt they will be in the hunt for the Big 12.

Georgia is 3-18 against the gators over the last 20 years. The gaters just have their number. This year might have been the main chance for the Dawgs.

The gators (I don't capitalize them) lost 9 guys to the draft in 2010 and this year was figured for a rebuilding year. Florida took in a #2 ranked class in 2010 and some played this year (on D). They will be experienced next year.

I expect the offense to still be a work in progress, but better defensive playing. The QB-WR combination and how they come together will be the determinant of Florida's success next year.

But...with South Carolina's resurgence, Georgia starting to play well, and Florida playing better...it ought to be an interesting divisional race.

Texas had the biggest fall coming from the National Championship game. Figured they could never have such an anomaly like this year's.

I voted for Georgia as well. Murray is an OUTSTANDING QB, though he has some bonehead throws sometimes. AJ Green is not the only receiver on the O, Murray brought Orson Charles along with him from High Screwal. So it won't be a "total" loss.

How odd was that Notre Dame win?? Who'd a thunk it.

Well at least Colt McCoy threw for a TD and ran for one, too bad it was on Sunday. Since we're on the subject. Tim Tebow threw his first TD pass as a Pro. Looked good, and no I didn't check his delivery. Since we're on the subject of quarterbacks, anybody ever seen a performance like Vick put on last night? He was good at VT but last night he was other worldly. It was like the cosmos aligned and out of the eclipse stepped Michael Vick. Anyway, still a fan after a decade.

As for the Texas Longhorns, is Mack Brown going to be there next year? I hear retirement rumors or stepping down? If so Texas is out.

Notre Dame got credit for a big win but I'm not sure it was as big as people make it. When it comes to Utah I'll cue BB and agree. As for next year, theres a lot of work left to do before ND is ready for the BCS. The team is starting to gel though. Second years for coaches tend to be big years so it could happen.

Georgia! I can want Georgia to torch the SEC and go to the BCS every year but that doesn't make it happen. I want Georgia to do well next year but I don't know if they will.

Tennessee who? We talking about the Titans? I didn't know Tennessee had another team. Well at least Vince Young is doing alright I suppose. Tennessee's best shot for a run in 2011 is if they fill the void left in the WAC by Boise St.
