Potential good news for Derek (Georgia)

Just read an article where AJ Green said if the NFL has a lockout then there was really no reason to leave college. So, he could be back at Georgia next season. I wonder how many players feel the same as AJ if there is an NFL lockout? Could we see players like Ryan Mallett back for their senior seasons?

Here's the article:

AJ Green quote from article:
“That’s really gonna play a big part in my decision,” Green said. “Because if they’re talking about a lockout, there’s really no point in me leaving.”

Almost as loaded as Arkansas. I am predicting now that Ark vs Georgia will be next years SEC Championship game. You heard it here first. :D

An NFL Lockout would really hurt the non-BCS teams or the teams trying to make Cinderella runs next season since all of the redshirt sophomore / junior pro prospects will all be coming back to bolster the upper-echelon rosters even more. But from a fan's perspective, I think it would create a lot of great storylines as well.

An NFL Lockout would be great for me personally so the sports media would shut up about the NFL, and maybe in 2012 when it returned, ESPN wouldn't show highlights of Sunday games on Tuesdays! . I would miss my fantasy football though.

It might put a crimp in some recruiting plans though for teams with few leaving seniors and a couple juniors that were expected to go early.

I know that FSU (with 19 current committments) wants more guys than they can take and have quietly told some interested guys that there is no slot. FSU has been "counseling" those current guys who aren't playing much and not likely to see the field much in the future. Three players announced transfers with FSU's full release last week. That opens up slots.

If two kids don't go to the NFL, there are two more slots not open that were planned on being filled.

Teams who planned on some kids leaving might have to change recruiting plans....
