SEC Slobbering

Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson are going on and on about how this Ole Miss / LSU game is so intense and so great. Never mind the fact neither defense showed up, this is a "great game." I'm convinced that the atmosphere is what makes these games so entertaining, not necessarily the product on the field. Because say what you want, this isn't fantastic football by any means.

I'm with you and I am not a fan of Lundquist or Danielson. I guess they do what they are paid to do.....hype the feature game for CBS each week (that just happens to be an SEC game). Danielson just loves him some Tim Tebow and Cam Newton. Did you hear him last week trying to make Cam out to be the victim in all the scandal that going on at Auburn right now.
Ole Miss is the worst team in the SEC this year. They got beat by an FCS school, and Vanderbilt.....their only wins are to Fresno State, Louisiana Lafayette, Kentucky, and Tulane. I think Ark will beat LSU in Arkansas next week.

Agreed. You'd have to assume that a bid to the Sugar Bowl is on the line in that game, provided Auburn takes care of business by going to the national title game. There's a lot at stake for that one. My best guess for an opponent would be either Michigan State / Ohio State or TCU / Boise State.

Ark needs Auburn to beat Bama and South Carolina, and Ark needs to beat LSU. If that happens then Ark should be playing in the Sugar. I think if Oregon and Auburn win out then Boise will end up in the Sugar. There are several scenarios where Ark ends the season ranked around #7 or #8 in the BCS and not get into a BCS bowl. Does anyone know the highest ranked BCS team from an AQ conference to be left out of a BCS bowl game?

I'm not sure, but I'd assume Missouri from 2007 would come very close. Missouri lost the Big 12 title game and was left out for Kansas, so I assume Mizzou would have been in that 5-8 range.
Honestly, I'd prefer the BCS to take an 11-1 Stanford over either 11-1 Ohio State or 10-2 Arkansas, but it's not going to happen because they won't get the eyeballs. One matchup that would be great would be LSU vs. Stanford, but that can't happen.

Why I like LSU this year...
The Mad Hatter's LSU is not a great team this year. Every week, I expect them to be in a position to lose but somehow something pulls them out for a win.
It's like watching "Angels in the Outfield"...I keep awaiting the miracles that keep LSU alive. They have played a top 10 schedule in SOS and are staying alive week to week hanging on by their fingernails.
But, the miracles only happen for a team that is scrappy enough to keep each game close.
