OK fellows...where is the axe? Are they waiting post Bowl game?

Brandon has said he would evaluate RR after the bowl when the season is over. RR has a buyout in his contract that gives him four million if they fire him before Jan 1. After it costs them 2.5 million. My thought is that has something to do with the waiting. Unless of course they plan on keeping him.

Harbaugh never came to the sports banquet that he had planned to attend, I can't imagine why he wouldn't unless something was in the works with him. He is the one guy I don't want Michigan to hire. He understands Michigan football, he is smart, and he has always been a pain in the Buckeye backside.

I think you nailed it! The money is one thing but, Harbaugh not being at the banquet tells me additional info. I think Harbaugh will be the next Michigan coach! Besides, we might as well start another rumor!

I'm on the Harbaugh bandwagon, but honestly I love "system" coaches like Leach, June Jones, and Gus Malzahn. But, I realize that they are custom-built for schools that can't just "out-talent" people like Michigan ought to be able to do

System coaches are looking for that one big year or a couple big years. The teams who don't rebuild, are looking for year in and out consistency.

The problem though is that alleged system coaches never get relevant opportunities at established powers. I don't think a system coach has ever had that opportunity. What Mike Leach did at Texas Tech is pretty good. In his worst season, the 2010 Red Raiders would have been the output (7-5 and a losing conference record). June Jones' accomplishment at Hawaii shouldn't go unnoticed either. I'd like to see Jim Harbaugh or even Jim Tressel or Les Miles make a consistent winner out of Texas Tech and Hawaii.

Actually evidence of that could be seen with Urban Meyer, who made Bowling Green into a borderline top 25 team during his stay. Malzahn also has a "system" and it's absolutely rolling right now at Auburn, just like it was when he was the offensive coordinator at Tulsa. Even if you were to point to Cam Newton, Malzahn's presence made Auburn's anemic offense a powerhouse overnight n 2009.

Several system coaches have gotten there. Rodriguez at WVU, Leach and Texas Tech, you could even argue Kelly and Oregon is a system coach just with a step up in talent. They still aren't consistently going to beat pro style teams like USC under Carroll, Florida State a ten years ago under Bowden. Miami under Johnson and company and others.

I'm definitely not saying that. When I say "system", I'm referring to coaches that get stereotyped in such a manner. Basically a "system" is anything other than a pro style offense.

Urban, at Utah, was a system coach...was he not?

Both are, even at Florida. Spurrier, though, has alway known the value of defense, most system guys tend to let the D slide.

I agree with what Spence said. They'll wait and see what Michigan does in the bowl game and if they lose, they will fire Rodriguez. They have their eye on Harbaugh.

Harbaugh's next move will be to the Pro's. That is where he wants to go. He says little and will not until the season is over. He has stated that he wants to coach the best players and that they are in the NFL.

Well, Stanford is concerned that Harbaugh is headed for Michigan; They've offered him more money to stay as their coach.
