Texas Spring Game

Postby Yeofoot » Sun Apr 03, 2011 10:27 am

Texas Spring Game is on ESPN today 2-4pm CST. All eyes will be on the QB play. I hope GG shows us something, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I am very excited to see what the offensive scheme is going to look like.

I'll be watching...

The QB play will make or break the Horns...they have all of the other pieces.

There were several bright spots during the game. I like the downhill run game they are going for. Gilbert looked like the same guy as last year... always the right mechanics, but never any touch. Case McCoy put up good numbers doing what worked for Colt and Major...throwing catchable balls that gave the talented WRs an opportunity to make a play, even though the announcers absolutely HATED his footwork.

Q'andre Diggs (sp?) will be a 1st round draft pick in 3 years at CB. He's the younger brother of Quentin Jammer, and will make a name for himself.

I feel good about the new coordinators. I do love how Mack used the 2 hours as a giant recruiting tool!

McCoy threw some nice balls...and, yeah, the announcers were calling his footwork "terrible". But I liked him better than Gilbert.

The run off tackle was working as was the quick out pass.

I wonder which QB will start?

I would be in shock if they didn't give it to GG. He has too much raw talent not to let play. I also would not be surprised if they ended up doing the Major Applewhite / Chris Simms thing, where he never settles on a QB.

Here is what the San Antonio paper thought

The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Johnathon Gray just gave his verbal to Texas today. That makes two 5 star runningbacks going to Texas the next two years! This kid is a serious home run threat...In the state championship game last year, he had 8 touchdowns.
