A championship contender with a new quarterback? Is Arkansas that loaded?

I guess that they are looking at the SEC West....

Auburn is breaking in a QB with Cam gone to the NFL... Auburn also lost their two starting DT's... Nick Fairly is a huge loss.

LSU still has Jefferson at QB in spring and he is still inconsistant...and they will miss the five guys who went in the first three rounds of the draft.

Alabama lost McElroy, Ingram, and Julio Jones to the NFL. They still have Trent Richardson, but the QB will be a kid with his first start.

They are indeed that loaded. If they can beat Bama early in Tuscaloosa watch out.

This new QB (Tyler Wilson) has been in the Petrino system going on 4 years now. Mono kept him from competing with Casey Dick for the job, and Ryan Mallett had a tough time beating him out of the job the past couple of years. He knows the offense. He has received playing time...most notably last year at Auburn when Mallett was hurt early in that game. He will be a Heisman contender this year.

Hogs will have the best WR corps in all of college football, one of the top RB's in all of college football (Knile Davis is the returning leading rusher in the SEC from last season...Hogs have depth at the RB position), a QB that will be a Heisman contender before seasons end, lots of talent back on the OL, and an ever improving defense (dline full of 300+ players with strength and speed...tons of depth).

The Razorbacks played in the Sugar Bowl last year and will be bringing back a much deeper and far more talented team in 2011. Anything less than a BCS bowl will be a HUGE disapointment...with aspirations of a NC.

It will be tough...Ark plays Bama and LSU on the road.

I can't wait!

It has to do with Ark being on the road for both the Bama and LSU games. Ark will not be favored in either game...so no way most will favor them to win the SEC West.

I do believe Ark for the first time since entering the SEC will have the overall best team in the league. The deepest, and most talented....with Bama and LSU right on their heels. That's why those games on the road will be so hard to win.

If the Hogs do well this year does that mean Petrino is already planning on talking to LSU, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn or Tennessee, or sending them resumes?

Swamp Daddy

As long as he leaves the program in better shape than when he arrived, which he certainly did at UL, then if he can better himself by leaving, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I realize the  , but it does still sound like you have some resentment. In your scenario, not sure he would be bettering himself going to all of those schools.

I think Petrino is very happy in Fayetteville, and also the buyout conditions, will make it difficult for him to leave, or the UofA to get rid of him. My bigger concern, is that he would get lazy and stop doing the job that he is currently doing.

Only about two months to go.

His contract will not let him take a job at any SEC school. So if he leaves Arkansas then he has to leave the SEC. Plus his payout is so high that he is not going anywhere for several years. I am with Razorhawk...I would be more concerned about him not trying as hard knowing how secure his job is with his current contract.
