The Razorbacks to win the National Championship. I have never in my lifetime ever seen anyone at ESPN (or for that matter any media outlet) pick the Hogs to win it all in football. I have found several who have made that claim this year. Even Pat Forde (before the Knile Davis injury) had the Hogs #1 for a time. Reilly has been voted national sportswriter of the year 11 times...after this season he may also be picked the worlds best fortune teller.
His prediction:
"Grub's, the best college bar in America, will nearly come unhinged when Arkansas wins the BCS national championship over Oklahoma. It's the first national title for Arkansas since 1964, when it went undefeated under Frank Broyles. (Yet Alabama, which lost its bowl game to Texas that year, still claims it as theirs. Whoa, Tide!) Anyway, chili cheese fries for everybody! "
I like Reilly's match up for the NC game: Ark vs OU.
He makes other predictions as well. Take them for what they are worth...which is pretty much nothing. It is just nice to be a hog fan and see them getting mentions like this. Now they have to go back it up on the field.
Go Hogs!

Kiss of death!
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Re: ESPN's Rick Reilly Picks...
Well, I have the Razorbacks listed as #4 with Oklahoma ranked #3.
My initial inclination was to start Arkansas at #2.
However, all of the injuries gave me pause.
Stanford has all of the tools right now. They do have a new head of state. But, when Butch Davis left Miami with the talent in place, Coker stepped in to a National Championship read team. The Cardinals have the same opportunity this year.
Florida State hit mid-season last year and pulled it all together. The figured out who they were, and are ready to stride forward. They are gonna be one tough team to stop.
Oklahoma has to play Florida State in Tallahassee. The Sooners do not have a very good track record when playing in the Sunshine State.
Stanford has a tough 3 game stretch to end the season with:
Oregon Nov 12th - California Nov 19th - Notre Dame 26th
However, these are somehow all Home games for Stanford.
Yet, Oregon put 52 up on the Cardinals last year, so, hmm...
The way I see it; if Florida State avoids stumbling somewhere in-conference, and Oregon beats Stanford, then, Arkansas very well could play the `Noles in the BCS title game.

Re: ESPN's Rick Reilly Picks...
Arkansas will have some major challenges this year. They have a team that could win them all but they must stay healthy and get a few breaks.
They play Bama and LSU on the road.
Texas A&M in Dallas (nuetral site) will not be easy.
They have tough home games vs South Carolina and Miss State.
I think if they can go into Bama week 4 and come out with a win then look out.

Re: ESPN's Rick Reilly Picks...
I saw this on ESPN knowing it would be a mistake. I must not have been in my top mental shape to click a link to an article penned by Rick Reilly. But his prediction about Arkansas isn't all that far off the mark. I doubt they'll be in the BCS, but they would be good enough to make the BCS in just about any other conference. Only downside is competing with LSU, Bama, Mississippi State, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina for two spots. My guess is 9-3 for the Hogs and probably the Cotton Bowl.
Running bowl/MSU/OSU record '05-present: 11-32

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

My favorite line.
The Cincinnati Bengals will go 0-16. I don't see how they can beat anybody -- in the WAC.
